Background / History

As Cornflower, Larkspur was the youngest and one of the most promising Blossom Stage Magical Girls in the Magic Kingdom. After receiving Letter Card certification, she volunteered for the Interrealm War alongside Anya, also known as Cherry Blossom. 266

At sixteen, during the Garden Defense Battle, she used a forbidden technique to defeat a powerful enemy at the cost of shattering her True Form and nearly destroying her Magic Armament. She survived and later advanced to Flower Stage. During the Great Calamity at seventeen, she used the technique again to save the Fangting City squad, leaving her ruler form shattered as well. 147

Her old injuries left her Heart Gem shattered, drastically diminished her mana capacity, and made her unable to deploy her Wonderland. She consequently adopted a precise, mana-conserving combat style. 83

Nineteen years after her previous transformation, she transformed again to save her daughter, Lin Xiaolu, from an Aberrant Beast. Rather than reveal that Larkspur was Lin Yun, she claimed to be an Inspector in order to intimidate Moko and investigate Fangting City's lack of Magical Girls. Lin Xiaolu's admiration persuaded her to become a mentor. 9

Larkspur's transformed body is petite and childlike, an accidental trait that does not reflect her actual age. Her Magical Girl form is noted for its doll-like beauty and composed, cold expression. 8 261 268

Larkspur presents herself as cool, reserved, and exacting. Her initial harsh Inspector persona was partly deliberate: she used it to pressure Moko into revealing the truth about Fangting City's situation. 9
