Background / History

Xue Dong and his younger sister, Xue Xue, were imprisoned in Biological Laboratory 13 by their biological parents, the people publicly credited as Doctor X and Doctor Y. The couple used Xue Dong as leverage to force Xue Xue to produce experimental results, then claimed her discoveries as their own. Xue Dong secretly learned the laboratory's layout and waited for an opportunity to escape with her. 110 118

When the apocalypse began, the couple's rescuers chose to save the famous doctors during a zombie attack, abandoning the siblings. Xue Dong initially considered exposing the truth, but Xue Xue stopped him; he recognized that their rescuers would exploit her just as their parents had. The siblings fled together and resolved that they owed their parents nothing further. 118

Afterward, Liu Qun's group used Xue Xue's psychic ability as a contract-making tool and held her captivity over Xue Dong. He covertly left a wind-made butterfly behind to help her before Liu Qun's death allowed the siblings to reunite. 45 47
