Lin Qing'er stood in the courtyard. Hearing those words, she retreated half a step in fright, her little face turning pale at once.
Her voice trembled slightly. "Husband, what should we do?"
"It's nothing. They're not worth mentioning," Feng Chen said calmly.
"Not worth mentioning?"
As if he had heard the greatest joke in the world, Liu Heigou turned to exchange glances with Liu Dagou and Liu Xiaogou behind him. The three burst into laughter together.
He raised a fist the size of a sandbag and waved it before Feng Chen's face, his knuckles cracking as he clenched them. "Kid, looks like I'll have to beat you up again today before you see reality for what it is."
"Who was it that hugged his head and begged for mercy on the ground last time we beat you? You forgot that so quickly?"
Without another word, he threw a punch at Feng Chen's face.
Liu Dagou and Liu Xiaogou charged forward at the same time, closing in from three sides. Clearly, this was a routine they had practiced together before.
Feng Chen did not even look at the incoming fist. He simply raised a hand and slapped it directly onto Liu Heigou's head.
That palm strike looked casual, yet it contained the immense force produced by the combined power of the Giant Strength Art at Perfection and the Body Tempering Second Layer.
Liu Heigou's fist was still suspended in midair when an irresistible force violently pressed his entire head downward. Like a turtle caught by its shell, he slammed face-first into the dirt.
With a dull bang, dust flew up. Liu Heigou's front teeth struck the stones in the dirt with a crisp crack.
Liu Dagou and Liu Xiaogou froze where they stood. The lewd grins on their faces had not even faded before turning into stunned disbelief.
They had never imagined Feng Chen could move so fast. Before they could even see clearly, Liu Heigou was already sprawled on the ground.
This was completely different from the hunter they had once bullied at will.
"What? You little—"
Before Liu Dagou could finish, Feng Chen moved. The Basic Movement Technique at Perfection erupted instantly.
His figure practically vanished from where he stood, flashing before the two men in an instant.
Liu Dagou saw only a blurred shadow streak past before a hand like an iron clamp seized his throat.
At the same time, another hand seized Liu Xiaogou's throat.
Feng Chen held both arms level, lifting the two men high like a pair of chicks. Under the moonlight, his arms did not tremble in the slightest.
Dangling in midair, Liu Dagou and Liu Xiaogou kicked frantically and clawed at Feng Chen's fingers, trying to pry them apart. Yet those ten fingers were like cast iron, utterly immovable.
Their faces swelled to the color of pig's liver from suffocation, their lips turned purple, and their eyes bulged.
Feng Chen calmly looked into the two pairs of eyes filled with terror and disbelief. His voice was not loud, yet every word struck clearly into their ears. "In your next life, be decent people. Don't bully the weak again."
"Y-you..." Liu Dagou struggled to say something, but his throat was clamped shut, and he could not force out even half a word.
Before he could finish, there was a crack.
Feng Chen snapped both their necks at once, then released them. The two corpses fell limply to the ground, landing in the same patch of dirt as Liu Heigou, who was lying there clutching his mouth and groaning.
Liu Heigou struggled up onto one knee. Covering his bloodied mouth, he looked up!
Liu Dagou and Liu Xiaogou had already collapsed beside him, their eyes still open and their necks twisted at impossible angles.
His mouth gaped wide enough to fit a fist inside, his eyeballs nearly popping from their sockets. His face was filled with the terror of seeing a ghost. "Your strength... how can you be this strong? Impossible! You were clearly that pathetic loser!"
Feng Chen turned to look at him, his tone as calm as if he were discussing something insignificant. "Nothing is impossible."
"Fine... fine, you little bastard, just wait! When Brother Teng comes back tomorrow, he'll deal with you! I guarantee you'll die even more miserably than today!"
Liu Heigou scrambled up from the ground on all fours. Though he spat harsh threats, he turned and ran without pausing for even a moment.
He was not slow.
His instinct to survive made him unleash every bit of strength he had. His thick legs slapped against the muddy ground with rapid smacks.
Unfortunately, Feng Chen was far faster than him.
With the Body Tempering Second Layer and the Basic Movement Technique at Perfection, Feng Chen only had to move his feet for his figure to sweep across several yards like a ghost, directly appearing before Liu Heigou.
Liu Heigou ran with his head down and slammed straight into Feng Chen's chest. It was like crashing into an iron wall. His entire body bounced back, and he fell onto the ground.
Feng Chen reached out and pressed him down with one hand.
That hand rested on Liu Heigou's back without using much force, yet Liu Heigou felt as though a mountain were crushing him. His entire body was nailed to the ground, unable to move.
He clawed desperately at the ground, his nails digging into the mud until they bled. His legs kicked endlessly, but the hand on his back did not move in the slightest.
Liu Heigou immediately changed his manner. Tears and snot poured out together, smearing across his face, which was covered in blood and mud. In a hoarse, shrill voice, he wailed, "Feng Chen, I was wrong, I was wrong! Please spare me, spare me!"
"I'll never dare again, I really won't ever dare again! Spare this worthless dog life of mine, and I'll serve you like an ox or a horse!"
Feng Chen lowered his head and looked at his tear-and-snot-streaked appearance, his face still calm.
Liu Heigou's pleading face was in stark contrast to his earlier arrogant, overbearing manner. It was quite a vivid lesson.
Some people only understood what fear was when fists landed on their bodies.
Unfortunately, Feng Chen would never spare any enemy.
"Spare you?"
Feng Chen said coldly.
Moonlight shone upon his handsome, sharply defined face, as handsome as all the esteemed readers. Deep in his eyes was only ice-coldness.
"Then who spared the weak me of the past?"
As his words fell, Feng Chen exerted force with both hands.
With a crack, Liu Heigou's head was twisted a full one hundred and eighty degrees, the back of his head pressed against his own chest.
The pleading expression still hung on his face, but the light in his eyes had completely scattered.
Thus, the three men fell silent forever.
After killing three men in succession, Feng Chen straightened up and let out a long breath of foul air.
The resentment in his chest from being threatened had been completely vented, leaving him feeling immensely refreshed.
Lin Qing'er rushed out from the courtyard.
Her steps were somewhat unsteady, and she nearly stumbled over the threshold.
She ran to Feng Chen's side and lowered her head to look at the three people lying on the ground!
Liu Heigou lay motionless on the ground, while Liu Dagou and Liu Xiaogou lay piled together with their necks twisted.
She opened her mouth, closed it, then opened it again, unable to think of what to say for a moment.
Her face was somewhat pale and her breathing slightly hurried, but there was no fear in her eyes. There was only an indescribable bitterness and heartache.
She merely stepped forward, wrapped both arms tightly around Feng Chen, buried her face in his chest, and spoke in a muffled voice from within his clothes. "Husband, you've worked hard."
Feng Chen lowered his head to look at the little head buried in his chest. He raised a hand and gently patted her back, smiling. "It's nothing. Let's clean this up now."
"All right, Husband."
Lin Qing'er took a deep breath, released him, and stood straight. She was afraid too. With three dead people lying in the courtyard, anyone would be afraid.
But she knew they had to clean up immediately.
She turned and went to rummage for burlap sacks in the corner of the courtyard, moving several degrees faster than usual.
None of the three corpses had bled much.
Liu Heigou had his neck twisted, and Liu Dagou and Liu Xiaogou had their neck bones broken as well. Aside from a few droplets of blood left where Liu Heigou had knocked out his teeth, there were no large bloodstains.
Cleaning up was simple.
Feng Chen first searched the three corpses one by one and found a total of fifty copper coins.
These three were poor enough. They had come out to extort others, yet did not even have any decent loose silver on them.
Feng Chen put the copper coins into his clothes, then found a large burlap sack and bent down to stuff the three corpses inside one by one.
The sack bulged tightly. He tied its opening shut with force, then raised his head and said to Lin Qing'er, "I'll throw these corpses into the mountains. Stay home obediently and bar the door. No matter who comes, don't open it."
"Understood, Husband. Be careful."
Lin Qing'er nodded obediently, her expression serious and tense.
Feng Chen nodded, lifting the burlap sack in one hand and pushing open the courtyard gate with the other.
The moonlight stretched his shadow long.
After leaving the village path, he used the Basic Movement Technique at Perfection. Beneath the moonlight, his footsteps nearly became a blurred streak as he swiftly swept toward the back mountain.
The forest on the back mountain was far denser than the area surrounding Green Mountain Village. Layer upon layer of tree canopies blocked most of the moonlight, and the surroundings immediately darkened.
Feng Chen stopped at a suitable spot: a natural deep ravine, its bottom overgrown with dense shrubs and vines. The faint sound of a babbling stream could be heard.
He untied the burlap sack, dragged out the three corpses one by one, and threw them down along the slope.
The corpses rolled down, snapping several shrub branches with a few dull sounds before being swallowed by the trees.
