Sanctuary Academy's graduation requirements were notoriously strict—one had to either reach the realm of a Title Douluo or achieve outstanding accomplishments in another field comparable to those of a Title Douluo.

Anyone who failed to meet that standard could never truly graduate and would nominally remain a student of Sanctuary Academy for life.

However, the academy also offered various paths forward. Those who did not wish to remain students could apply to become teachers. The academy did not demand much in terms of a teacher's cultivation, but their teaching ability had to meet rigorous standards.

Those who did not wish to teach could also apply to leave the academy or seek other jobs within the city. After all, Sanctuary Academy itself was an enormous city, offering a vast number of positions.

The city's population was not actually that large.

It was not a native force of the Douluo Continent. Very few of its residents had been born and raised here; the overwhelming majority were visitors from other worlds who had accidentally arrived through the "Transfer Phenomenon."

Many of them were ordinary people unable to survive on the perilous Douluo Continent. Sanctuary Academy had taken them in and given them a home where they could live in peace.

Qian Renxue had originally intended to find a teacher in charge of assessments at the front desk, but as her gaze swept across the hall, it suddenly settled on a familiar figure nearby. Genuine delight and respect immediately appeared on her cool face.

"Professor Buer!"

She hurried over and greeted her respectfully.

Bai Mo also turned at the sound, and his expression immediately froze.

She was a tall, slender woman whose temperament resembled moonlight filtering through a forest.

She wore a long dress primarily in pure white, adorned with pale green and gold patterns. Its cut was flowing and light, as though woven from the purest moonlight and newly sprouted leaves.

Her smooth silver-white and pale green hair was braided into exquisite plaits that draped quietly down her back, with translucent leaf-shaped ornaments nestled among the strands.

She had long, pointed elven ears and jade-white skin that seemed to glow with the soft radiance of vegetation.

Most unforgettable of all were her clear emerald-green eyes. Gentle and elongated, her gaze was calm and tender, yet seemed to contain the wisdom and compassion to see through all things in the world.

She merely stood there quietly, yet instinctively made others feel utterly safe and trusting.

"So it's you, Qian Renxue."

The professor called Buer turned around. When she saw her, a gentle smile appeared on her face.

Her voice was as soft as a warm spring breeze, filled with a soothing warmth. "Did you bring this child here for the entrance assessment?"

"Yes."

Qian Renxue nodded and stepped aside to reveal Bai Mo behind her. "His name is Bai Mo. Teacher Nangong just brought him back. Little Brother Bai Mo, this is Professor Buer, the creator of our academy's Void System."

Bai Mo immediately raised his head and bowed respectfully to the professor before him in the most well-behaved manner. "Hello, Professor Buer."

Yet beneath his calm exterior, a storm had already erupted in his heart.

The Void System.

He had heard Meng Hongchen mention it before. It was one of the subsidiary systems beneath the academy's central intelligence, the Tethys System. Its terminals resembled leaves and could provide full-area wireless networking, long-distance communication, holographic projection, and even direct information input into the brain.

The name alone had already given him a powerful sense of déjà vu, but now that he had seen Professor Buer with his own eyes, he understood everything.

Wasn't this... wasn't this Greater Lord Rukkhadevata, the original Dendro Archon from the game he had once played, the one the entire world had forgotten?

She had been one of his greatest regrets back then, the deepest blade lodged in his heart. He had never imagined that he would meet here the gentle deity who had broken his heart, sacrificing herself in exchange for the world's peace.

A true deity was actually one of Sanctuary Academy's professors.

Sure enough, this academy was even more terrifyingly powerful than he had imagined.

Professor Buer's emerald eyes, as though they held the wisdom of an entire forest, lingered on Bai Mo for a moment.

It was as if she had seen through something, and an incomparably gentle smile blossomed on her face.

"The teacher on duty today happened to have gone out on business," she said softly, her voice like a clear spring in the forest, cleansing the heart. "If you don't mind, I'll conduct your entrance assessment this time."

Afterward, Buer led Bai Mo to a white mechanical pod filled with a futuristic technological feel at one side of the hall.

"Just lie down inside."

She explained, "This is a soul examination pod directly connected to the academy's central intelligence, the Tethys System. Its main purpose is to prevent ill-intentioned people from the Burning Legion and the End Sect from infiltrating the academy. Inside, the Tethys System will conduct a comprehensive examination of your physical and soul data to ensure there are no problems. Then, the system will automatically register your personal information. After that, you'll officially be enrolled."

Bai Mo nodded, not feeling the slightest bit guilty.

He was just an ordinary transmigrator from a peaceful world. He had absolutely nothing to do with the Burning Legion or the End Sect, groups that sounded utterly vicious.

He carefully set Fufu down from his arms. Once the little creature landed, it curiously ran over to the console and bared its tiny fangs at the enormous holographic screen, as if confronting the machine.

Bai Mo then obediently lay down inside the slightly cool mechanical pod.

With a soft sound, the pod door slowly closed, sealing off everything outside. A gentle, genderless mechanical voice sounded beside his ears, guiding him to relax.

Immediately afterward, soft white light illuminated the interior of the entire pod. An indescribable warmth came from every direction, enveloping his entire body.

It felt like soaking in a hot spring at the perfect temperature—so comfortable that he began to feel drowsy all over.

Not much time passed. About ten minutes later, the examination was complete.

The indicator above the pod door turned green, and the mechanical voice informed him once more that the examination had concluded. When the door opened, Bai Mo stepped out still somewhat reluctant to leave.

Almost the instant his feet touched the ground, Fufu shot onto his shoulder with a whoosh and affectionately rubbed against his cheek.

"Congratulations, Little Brother Bai Mo. You passed the examination."

Qian Renxue smiled as she walked over, handing him a card and a brand-new phone. "And congratulations as well. From now on, you're a member of Sanctuary Academy's elementary division."
