Spirit City.
Two towering grand halls stood on either side. White jade stairways soaring into the clouds displayed the luxury and nobility of the two halls, while the guards standing along both sides were all mid-ranking members of Spirit Hall.
A three-year-old child walked up the white jade stairs. He wore the finest silk and satin, and the gems set into his clothing did not make him look gaudy, but instead gave him a fitting elegance.
Behind the child followed a man clad in black soft armor threaded with gold, a black cloak hanging from his back, with a ghost-faced mask covering his face.
The man's footsteps always remained half a step behind the boy's.
"Greetings, Ghost Douluo!"
The guards on both sides saluted when they saw Ghost Douluo.
Ghost showed no change in expression at the respect he received every day. His face remained calm. As a Titled Douluo, aside from treating those of the same rank with courtesy, he naturally did not place anyone else in his eyes.
And the child before him was someone he could not afford to offend, someone he needed to protect at close range.
He was the younger brother of the current Pope, Qian Xunji, and also Qian Daoliu's treasured child, born in his old age!
Ghost was rather curious about this matter. Given Qian Daoliu's temperament, he usually remained within the Offering Hall and rarely ever went outside.
Who knew what had gotten into him for him to get an ordinary woman pregnant and have her give birth to this boy?
The woman was the only one who had benefited. Aside from having no official status, she would certainly never lack cultivation resources in the future.
The one thing that comforted Ghost was that little Qian Chenzhou was far too mature for his age.
While other three-year-olds were still at the age of playing around, he had already begun carrying himself like a little adult. He had even started practicing the Qian Clan's swordsmanship. Though they were merely simple, ordinary techniques, Ghost felt that this boy would certainly grow into someone like Qian Daoliu in the future.
This determination to endure hardship alone already far surpassed the children of twelve or thirteen at Spirit Hall Academy.
The resplendent gates radiated an ancient, solemn presence. The guards at the entrance were all level eighty-eight Soul Douluos, clad in golden armor and wielding golden weapons, their gazes sharp.
"Greetings, Ghost Douluo!"
The two could already be considered Platinum Bishops within Spirit Hall, yet when facing a Titled Douluo, they still did not dare act presumptuously.
"Open the gates. I have business with the Grand Offering."
"Yes!"
The two worked together to push open the gates.
Everything inside the Offering Hall was ancient and simple, nowhere near as dazzling as the exterior.
The first thing visible was a hundred-meter-tall Angel statue. Its carved features were lifelike and carried compassionate mercy for all living things. The three pairs of wings spread behind it symbolized supreme authority, while the long sword standing at its side represented judgment upon all the world's sins.
Beneath the Angel statue stood a stone chair, with six more stone chairs placed below it on either side, arranged in two rows of three.
Qian Daoliu sat beneath the Angel statue on the stone chair, while six people occupied the other seats.
They were the six Titled Douluos: Golden Crocodile, Azure Luan, Lion, Light Plume, Thousand Jun, and Subduing Demon. All of them were above level ninety-five.
This was the true foundation of the Offering Hall!
The gates were heavy, but they could not block the senses of the seven Douluos. They knew Ghost would not ordinarily come here, and since he had come, it meant Qian Chenzhou had arrived.
"Little Chenzhou, are you here to practice swordsmanship with your father again today?" Golden Crocodile teased with a smile. "Come, let your uncle hold you."
"Little Chenzhou is still young and hasn't even awakened his martial soul. With the strength of a rough brute like you, don't hurt him." Azure Luan smiled and teased, "Come over to your uncle. Though your Uncle Azure Luan isn't as strong as your Uncle Golden Crocodile, I'm far more experienced at taking care of children."
"What experience do you have?" Golden Crocodile snapped irritably. "Come to Uncle Golden Crocodile."
Though they did not know what their eldest brother Qian Daoliu had been thinking, they were still especially delighted by Qian Chenzhou's birth. Looking at this child, they could not help remembering Qian Xunji as a child.
"Enough, stop arguing." Qian Daoliu opened his eyes with a smile and looked at his youngest son. "Chenzhou, let your father see how much your foundational swordsmanship has improved."
"Father, I did not come for that this time." Qian Chenzhou spoke calmly and looked at Ghost beside him.
With only a glance, Ghost understood that what came next was not something he should hear. He clasped his fists and saluted the seven offerings. "Ghost shall wait outside."
With that, he turned and quickly left, closing the gates behind him.
The previously lively Offering Hall instantly fell silent.
The seven men all treasured the little fellow. Over the past three years, they had naturally noticed that he always wore a worried expression and cultivated diligently, yet he lacked the innocence common to children his age and possessed more of an adult's steadiness.
If they had not known he was their eldest brother Qian Daoliu's child and examined his bloodline, they might truly have thought he had been possessed by some evil soul master using a secret technique.
"Father, I want to show you something."
"Oh?" Qian Daoliu asked curiously. "What is it?"

"Yes," Qian Chenzhou silently answered in his heart.
The next moment, a golden ray flew from Qian Chenzhou's glabella. The instant Qian Daoliu saw the beam, his soul power instinctively spilled out and formed a thin golden barrier.
Yet that golden light was not blocked by the golden barrier at all. It drilled directly into Qian Daoliu's glabella.
Seeing their eldest brother suddenly close his eyes, then looking at little Chenzhou, the six men made no unnecessary movements and quietly waited.
Qian Daoliu closed his eyes as countless memories flashed through his mind, as though he had personally experienced them. As time passed, the armrest of his stone chair exploded with a bang and turned into countless fragments.
His emotions, which had not stirred for who knew how many years, suddenly surged like a tsunami. His soul power began to pour out uncontrollably, and his pressure instantly enveloped the entire hall.
Golden Crocodile immediately stood and swiftly positioned himself in front of Qian Chenzhou, circulating all his soul power to resist the pressure radiating from Qian Daoliu.
The veins all over Golden Crocodile's body bulged.
He understood that his eldest brother's strength had improved once more. The pressure he felt was simply boundless.
After a long while, Qian Daoliu opened his eyes, his gaze filled with killing intent. Seeing his second brother Golden Crocodile standing before Qian Chenzhou, he quickly raised a hand and withdrew the pressure, while looking gratefully at his second brother.
"Chenzhou, was what you just showed me real?"
"Father, it was absolutely true!" Qian Chenzhou replied neither humbly nor arrogantly.
"Where did you get this?"
Qian Daoliu still could not believe that Spirit Hall, which stood at the pinnacle of the continent, would be destroyed by an unknown brat. Even his future granddaughter, Qian Renxue, would have her divine position crippled.
One had to understand, that was the Angel God worshipped by the Qian Clan!
A god!
Not merely a soul master!
