Background / History

Qian Xunji is Qian Daoliu’s eldest son and Qian Chenzhou’s much older brother. As Spirit Hall’s Pope, he maintains Pope Hall and initially has Bibi Dong as his disciple. Despite their large age gap, he is openly indulgent toward Chenzhou, even saying he would eventually hand over the papacy if his brother wanted it. 1 6 7

He assists Chenzhou’s early cultivation efforts, including refining Whale Glue for him despite initial skepticism. Qian Daoliu later severely punishes Xunji for allowing the dangerous experiment, judging that he failed to protect his younger brother. 12 13

When Bibi Dong seeks permission to leave Spirit Hall with Yu Xiaogang, Xunji refuses in anger. He considers her planned departure a betrayal of both him and the resources Spirit Hall spent raising her. After learning of the future in which Bibi Dong contributes to Spirit Hall’s downfall, he questions whether she can be trusted, but accepts Chenzhou’s judgment that she remains strategically necessary against Tang San and the Asura God. 15 26

To secure the Qian clan’s future, the six offerings pressure him into a polygamous marriage intended to produce an heir. He reluctantly complies; by the time Qian Renxue is introduced, he is confirmed as her father. 23 53

During the operation against Tang Hao and Ah Yin, Qian Xunji leads Spirit Hall’s forces and nearly defeats Tang Hao despite the latter’s Ring Detonation and newly acquired hundred-thousand-year Soul Ring. The Asura God King then possesses Tang Hao and defeats Xunji with a single hammer strike, leaving him severely injured. 31 32 33

After recovering, he yields Spirit Hall’s leadership to Bibi Dong and later reaches level 99. Although officially treated as dead, he continues managing the backlog of Spirit Hall affairs while Bibi Dong is absent or occupied. 34 50 58

Personality

Qian Xunji is protective of his family and Spirit Hall, particularly Qian Chenzhou. He readily supports his younger brother’s requests, though he can be skeptical of Chenzhou’s unconventional cultivation methods and complains when those plans create trouble for him. 6 11 23

As Pope and Bibi Dong’s teacher, he is stern, possessive of Spirit Hall’s resources, and deeply hostile toward perceived betrayal. His reaction to Bibi Dong’s intended elopement reflects both personal disappointment and concern that a future Super Douluo would strengthen an opposing faction. 15

He can set aside personal suspicions when strategy demands it. After hearing Chenzhou’s warning about Tang San and the Asura God, he agrees not to act against Bibi Dong and gives Chenzhou broad authority to make arrangements. 26
