Background / History

Transmigration and the Blue Silver Emperor

Lu Ming arrived in the Douluo Continent as a weak soft-boned rabbit with only around a dozen years of cultivation. Drawing on his knowledge of the original story, he located the hidden Blue Silver Emperor near Saint Soul Village and devoured it, activating the Domain System. The act gave him the power to reconstruct himself into a human, but most of the hundred-thousand-year soul power he acquired was sealed because his new body could not withstand it. 1

The Blue Silver Emperor's death immediately drew Tang Hao to the valley. Lu Ming escaped the Titled Douluo by using Gluttonous Sea of Light to disrupt his senses and repeatedly changing forms through Formless Transformation. His escape methods included becoming a groundhog, crow, and water snake. 2 3

When Tang Hao cornered him with a hundred-thousand-year soul skill, the system forcibly unsealed part of Lu Ming's Blue Silver Emperor power. Lu Ming used the strengthened Gluttonous Sea of Light to assault Tang Hao with plant-based illusions and A Yin's memories, then transformed into A Yin's appearance. He convinced Tang Hao that A Yin's soul continued within him, ending the pursuit. 4 5

Arrival in the Star Dou Great Forest

Knowing that both Tang Hao and Spirit Hall could pursue him, Lu Ming chose the Star Dou Great Forest as a refuge and testing ground for his abilities. He intended to build power there rather than return to human society. 7 11

Before reaching the forest, Lu Ming encountered a Human-Faced Demon Spider and used Self-Contained Perfect Enclosure and Formless Transformation to remake it into his first Arrancar, Zhu Mao. He subsequently transformed the Wind Spirit Leopard into Feng Qie and the Moonlight Deer into Yue Xi. 8 10 11

Establishing the Valley

In the Star Dou Great Forest, Lu Ming settled with his followers in a valley and used Myriad Essence Life-Eater to resonate with the surrounding plant life. The technique restored his soul power, strengthened his body and spiritual power, repaired damage caused by previous transformations, and enabled his breakthrough to level 21. 14 15

His expanded Gluttonous Sea of Light accidentally drew Xiao Wu into the domain, bringing him to the attention of Da Ming and Er Ming. Lu Ming outwardly protected Xiao Wu from the two forest overlords, while privately using the encounter to cultivate her trust and secure peaceful relations with the forest's rulers. 17 18

Arrancar Expansion

Lu Ming formed a small settlement with Zhu Mao, Feng Qie, Yue Xi, and Xiao Wu. He then led his followers against the Black-Armored Troll and Clawed Terror Demon, intending to turn the defeated soul beast lords into Arrancar rather than kill them. 19 21 25

Using Self-Contained Perfect Enclosure to suppress their souls, Lu Ming transformed the two beasts into Giant Fang and Black Blade. Their resulting strength greatly exceeded their original cultivation levels, reinforcing Lu Ming's ambition to subdue the forest's soul beast lords and establish an Arrancar nation. 26 27

After internal conflict between Zhu Mao and Giant Fang, Lu Ming imposed strict discipline. He later guided Zhu Mao through the first successful Resurrección, establishing it as the Arrancar's path of self-evolution. Feng Qie, Giant Fang, and Black Blade subsequently attempted the process, though Feng Qie failed and suffered spiritual backlash. 30 32 34 35

Appearance

Lu Ming normally appears as a handsome black-haired youth around Xiao Wu's apparent age. His human body was created by reshaping the soul and body of his original soft-boned rabbit form. 1 14

  • Originally possessed the body of a weak soft-boned rabbit with roughly a dozen years of cultivation. 1
  • In human form, he has black hair and an appearance described as clean and ordinary at first glance. 14
  • When Blue Silver Emperor power is unsealed, blue-gold patterns spread across his skin, his hair grows to his waist, and his eyes turn pure blue. 4
  • Can alter his body into animal forms or mimic another person's appearance through Formless Transformation. 2 3 4

Personality

Lu Ming is highly pragmatic and survival-oriented. Faced with Tang Hao, he recognized that direct confrontation was impossible and relied on distraction, mimicry, deception, and Tang Hao's grief for A Yin to survive. 2 5

He is ambitious and strategic. Rather than merely hiding in the Star Dou Great Forest, he plans to build an Arrancar force, conquer local soul beast lords, and eventually create an independent nation for beings who are neither human nor soul beast. 11 22 29

Lu Ming is also manipulative when pursuing long-term goals. He deliberately performs the role of a dependable protector before Xiao Wu, allows her access to clues about his abilities, and carefully presents the limits of Formless Transformation to avoid provoking Da Ming and Er Ming. 17 19 20 28

Despite his calculated behavior, he openly regards soul beasts as beings equal to humans rather than resources or prey. He wants the Arrancar to possess enough power that they will no longer be hunted for soul rings. 29

As a leader, he can be patient and encouraging toward his followers, but becomes stern when their rivalry threatens the group. He recognizes that intimidation alone cannot maintain loyalty and seeks a sustainable path for the Arrancar to grow stronger. 30 31

Abilities & Skills

Domain: Self-Contained Perfect Enclosure

Lu Ming's first hundred-thousand-year soul-ring skill manifests as a sealed space of countless pale hands. It specializes in confinement, suppression, and soul contact. 1 8

  • Binds targets inside a sphere of pale arms that can restrain even charging soul beasts. 8
  • Suppresses the souls of captured targets, allowing Lu Ming to safely begin transformations. 26
  • Can be used alongside Formless Transformation to forcefully alter a creature's soul and body. 8 26
  • Its enclosed space serves as the setting for Arrancar Resurrección attempts. 32 34

Formless Transformation

An attached technique of Self-Contained Perfect Enclosure, Formless Transformation lets Lu Ming touch and reshape the soul's underlying nature, changing either his own body or another living being's form. 1

  • Reconstructed Lu Ming's original rabbit body into a human body. 1
  • Allows rapid self-transformation and mimicry, including animal forms suited for digging, flight, or swimming. 2 3
  • Can replicate another person's appearance, as demonstrated when Lu Ming took A Yin's form to deceive Tang Hao. 4 5
  • Converts suitable soul beasts into Arrancar with humanlike bodies, intelligence, and retained traits from their original species. 8 10 11
  • Requires substantial spiritual power, especially for precise or repeated transformations. 3 9
  • Not every soul beast can survive the procedure; insufficient potential or spiritual will can lead to failure and soul scattering. 9 28
  • Lu Ming cannot transform creatures without limit. At level 22, transforming two two-thousand-year soul beasts simultaneously pushed him to his limit. 26 28

Domain: Gluttonous Sea of Light

Lu Ming's second hundred-thousand-year soul-ring skill creates an expanding plant-filled domain derived from Blue Silver Emperor power. 2

  • Causes plants within the affected area to grow, mutate, and act as extensions of the domain. 2 4
  • Distorts and overwhelms a target's senses by amplifying plant pheromones and related sensory input. 2
  • Can generate highly convincing plant-based illusions, including manifestations connected to A Yin's memories. 4
  • Became strong enough after Lu Ming's forest resonance to engulf an entire valley and forcibly pull Xiao Wu into the domain. 15
  • Withstood the combined pressure of Da Ming and Er Ming long enough for Lu Ming to manage the confrontation. 17

Myriad Essence Life-Eater

Myriad Essence Life-Eater is the attached technique of Gluttonous Sea of Light. Rather than simply draining life force, it enables Lu Ming to resonate with plant life and borrow the forest's vitality. 2 14

  • Connects his perception to nearby plants, letting him sense their growth, roots, and life rhythms. 14
  • Draws life energy from the surrounding environment to restore soul power and strengthen his body and spiritual power. 14
  • Repairs soul damage caused by excessive use of Formless Transformation. 14
  • Works especially effectively because of the Blue Silver Emperor essence within Lu Ming, which acts as a link to plant life. 14 15

Blue Silver Emperor Power

By devouring the Blue Silver Emperor, Lu Ming gained access to its hundred-thousand-year soul power and residual origin. Most of this power was initially sealed to prevent his reconstructed body from exploding. 1

  • Emits a powerful life aura recognizable as the Blue Silver Emperor's presence. 4
  • Can temporarily amplify Gluttonous Sea of Light far beyond its ordinary scale. 4
  • Enables Lu Ming to imitate A Yin's appearance and exploit Tang Hao's emotional attachment to her. 4 5
  • Supports his affinity with the Star Dou Great Forest's plant life. 14

Arrancar Creation and Resurrección

Lu Ming calls the beings created through Formless Transformation Arrancar: a new race that has discarded its former soul beast identity and gained a Hollow Hole as proof of its remade soul. 22

  • Successful transformations grant soul beasts human intelligence, speech, altered bodies, and substantial increases in strength. 10 27
  • The increase depends on the soul beast's original talent and accumulated power rather than being unlimited. 28
  • Lu Ming can guide Arrancar through Resurrección, an evolution in which they confront and overcome their former beast nature. 32 33
  • Zhu Mao's successful Resurrección elevated him from the thousand-year level to the ten-thousand-year level. 33
  • Failed Resurrección is dangerous: Feng Qie suffered severe spiritual backlash, while Giant Fang and Black Blade lost control and attacked Lu Ming before being subdued. 34 35

Relationships

  • Tang Hao — Enemy and former pursuer. Tang Hao sought to kill Lu Ming for devouring the Blue Silver Emperor, but Lu Ming escaped by impersonating A Yin and convincing him that her soul persisted within his body. 2 5
  • A Yin / Blue Silver Emperor — Lu Ming devoured her Blue Silver Emperor form, inherited residual origin power, and later sensed her soul within himself. Her power is central to his life aura, plant affinity, and deception of Tang Hao. 1 4 5
  • Xiao Wu — Initially joins Lu Ming's group under the guise of a lost girl to investigate him. Their relationship develops into mutual trust, though Lu Ming deliberately uses her connection to Da Ming and Er Ming to protect his position in the forest. 18 19 28 29
  • Zhu Mao — Lu Ming's first Arrancar and a transformed Human-Faced Demon Spider. Zhu Mao serves as his silent guard and becomes the first follower to achieve Resurrección under Lu Ming's guidance. 8 9 32 33
  • Feng Qie — Transformed from a Wind Spirit Leopard. Lu Ming names him and relies on him as a fast-moving scout and ranged combatant; Feng Qie's failed Resurrección reveals the danger of the process. 10 21 34 35
  • Yue Xi — Transformed from a Moonlight Deer. She is timid and attached to Lu Ming, serving as the group's healer through her inherited life-energy ability. 11 12 25
  • Giant Fang and Black Blade — Formerly the Black-Armored Troll and Clawed Terror Demon. Lu Ming transforms them into Arrancar, then disciplines them after their rivalry threatens Zhu Mao and the group's order. 26 27 30
  • Da Ming and Er Ming — Forest overlords who monitor Lu Ming after witnessing his transformations. Lu Ming seeks to avoid provoking them and uses Xiao Wu's trust to establish a possible understanding with them. 12 17 28 29
