Background
Xiao Wu is a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soft-Boned Rabbit who successfully underwent Beast Transformation, taking a human body while remaining in the Star Dou Great Forest with Da Ming and Er Ming. Unlike ordinary Soul Beasts, she understands both the danger and the sacrifice involved in abandoning a beast body to enter human society. 12 13
After Da Ming and Er Ming observe Lu Ming transforming lower-cultivation Soul Beasts into humanoid Arrancar, Xiao Wu becomes intensely curious. Rather than accepting Er Ming's belief that Lu Ming is an evil Soul Master, she insists on investigating the transformation herself. 13
Da Ming permits her investigation under strict conditions: she must conceal her Soul Beast identity, avoid direct conflict with Lu Ming, and call for help immediately if endangered. Da Ming also leaves a spiritual mark on her so he and Er Ming can track her within the forest. 13
Appearance
In human form, Xiao Wu resembles an ordinary young girl and carries no outward trace of her Soul Beast identity. 13
- Wears a short pink skirt. 16
- Has a long scorpion braid. 16
- Possesses large, bright, watery eyes. 13
- Her Soft-Boned Rabbit aura blends naturally into the Star Dou Great Forest, making her difficult to detect. 16
Personality
Xiao Wu is deeply curious, independent, and willing to challenge Da Ming and Er Ming's overprotectiveness when she believes something needs to be understood firsthand. Her questions about Lu Ming's transformations are not merely academic: she wants to know whether Arrancar are still Soul Beasts, how their transformation differs from her own, and what it could mean for Soul Beastkind. 13 15 23
Despite entering Lu Ming's group under false pretenses, she quickly develops genuine attachment to its members. She becomes protective of Yue Xi, worries when Lu Ming's group challenges dangerous Soul Beast lords, and feels guilty that Lu Ming shares secrets while she continues hiding her true identity. 19 21 25
Her growing trust in Lu Ming does not erase her caution. She continues reporting what she learns to Da Ming and Er Ming, hoping to determine whether Lu Ming's Arrancar path can truly change the fate of Soul Beasts. 33 34
Abilities & Skills
Beast Transformation
Xiao Wu has completed the transformation from a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast into a human.
- Her human body has no visible Soul Beast characteristics, allowing her to pass as an ordinary human girl. 13
- She retains the identity, instincts, and immense internal power of a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soft-Boned Rabbit. 16
- She intends to eventually enter human society, considering this part of the reason she chose Beast Transformation. 13
Soft-Boned Rabbit Techniques
When trapped inside Lu Ming's Gluttonous Sea of Light domain, Xiao Wu instinctively uses her Soul Beast abilities to evade its hostile plant life. 16
- Soft Technique — Makes her body boneless and flexible enough to weave through attacks at impossible angles. 16
- Waist Bow — Allows her to sharply alter her body's trajectory in midair. 16
- Teleportation — Lets her instantly relocate approximately ten meters to evade danger. 16
- Origin Power — She considers using the power of her Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast form to forcibly break Lu Ming's domain, but stops before doing so. 16
Senses and Concealment
- Her senses are sharp enough to overhear Lu Ming's quiet, spiritually transmitted midnight meeting despite being outside his room. 21
- Her presence blends exceptionally well with the forest, allowing her to observe Lu Ming's group without being noticed until his expanded domain draws her inside. 16
- Da Ming's spiritual mark allows the forest overlords to monitor her movements within the Star Dou Great Forest. 13
Relationships
- Lu Ming — Initially investigates him while posing as a lost human girl. His protection during Da Ming and Er Ming's confrontation, willingness to entrust her with his transformation secret, and sympathy toward Soul Beasts steadily earn her trust. 18 25 28 29
- Da Ming — One of Xiao Wu's protective Soul Beast brothers and a ruler of the Star Dou Great Forest. He reluctantly allows her infiltration but forbids her from exposing her identity to Lu Ming. 13 18 34
- Er Ming — Xiao Wu's fiercely protective Soul Beast brother. He distrusts Lu Ming's motives and fears that Xiao Wu is being deceived or manipulated. 13 34
- Yue Xi — A transformed Moonlight Deer whom Xiao Wu treats as a younger sister. Xiao Wu promises to protect her, spends her days playing with her, and recognizes that Yue Xi has retained the Moonlight Deer's gentle nature. 19 20
- Zhu Mao, Feng Qie, Giant Fang, and Black Blade — Lu Ming's Arrancar followers. Xiao Wu observes their intelligence, loyalty, growth, and dangerous transformation processes while reassessing whether they should be considered monsters or a new race. 15 27 33
Story Role / Major Arcs
Investigation of Lu Ming
Xiao Wu leaves the Lake of Life to investigate Lu Ming after learning that he can transform ordinary Soul Beasts into humanlike beings. She secretly observes his resonance with the forest, his Arrancar companions' speech and behavior, and the formation of his Gluttonous Sea of Light domain. 13 14 15
Lu Ming's domain accidentally pulls Xiao Wu inside, exposing her presence. While attempting to escape, she uses her Soft-Boned Rabbit techniques against the domain's plants before Lu Ming stops the attack and confronts her. 16
Joining the Valley Group
When Da Ming and Er Ming arrive in response to her danger, Xiao Wu covertly signals them to leave so she can remain beside Lu Ming and continue her investigation. She introduces herself as a lost human girl and accepts Lu Ming's invitation to stay in the valley. 18 19
She helps build the group's wooden homes and becomes Yue Xi's caretaker. Her experience of their ordinary domestic life—especially Yue Xi's kindness—weakens her belief that Lu Ming is conducting cruel experiments. 19 20
Witnessing the Arrancar Path
Xiao Wu secretly follows Lu Ming's group when they challenge the Black-Armored Troll and Clawed Terror Demon. She watches Yue Xi heal Feng Qie, Zhu Mao subdue the troll, and Lu Ming entrust her with the secret of his transformation ability. 24 25
She witnesses the defeated Soul Beast lords become Giant Fang and Black Blade, gaining humanoid forms, reason, and vastly increased cultivation. The event convinces her that Lu Ming's ability may represent a real new path for Soul Beasts, though she later learns that failed transformations can scatter a Soul Beast's soul. 27 28
Conflict Between Trust and Secrecy
After Lu Ming explains his wish to create an Arrancar nation where Soul Beasts can no longer be hunted as resources, Xiao Wu becomes determined to help Da Ming and Er Ming understand him. 29
She reports Lu Ming's methods, goals, and the dangers of Resurrección to the forest overlords. Although she wishes to reveal her identity to Lu Ming out of guilt, Da Ming and Er Ming forbid it until they can trust him completely. 33 34
