Background / History

Twenty thousand years ago, Lan Yu encountered Dragon Valley while traveling across Star Luo Continent. Though its laws rejected him, the minor plane voluntarily sent out a dragon egg. Lan Yu used his own life essence to nurture and hatch the egg, raising the hatchling as his foster daughter. The hatchling became Jia Lin, the current Fire Dragon King. Over the following twenty thousand years, Lan Yu supplied her with high-grade Soul Beast resources he did not need, accelerating her cultivation. 11 122

After surviving her 500,000-year heavenly tribulation, Jia Lin reunited with Lan Yu and accompanied him to the Icefire Yin-Yang Eye, where the prior Fire and Water Dragon Kings had perished. The two remnant souls recognized her as the Fire Dragon King’s descendant and entrusted her with their origins. Although their ice and fire powers threatened to destroy her body, Lan Yu forcibly suppressed their elemental repulsion and sealed the excess origin within her for gradual absorption. 12 13

The inheritance allowed Jia Lin to rise from 500,000 to 800,000 years of cultivation. After overcoming three successive heavenly tribulations, she formally received the predecessors’ divinity and became capable of wielding both ultimate fire and ultimate water. 14
