Lin Jie is the class monitor of Qianshan No. 2 High School's Class Two and one of the school year's longstanding top-three students. He defeated Class Three's strongest student, Li Xingyu, during the Class Two–Class Three exchange meet, though the victory left Li Xingyu determined to challenge him again. 4

His family owns Starrock Martial Arts Academy, giving him access to extensive cultivation resources and a private training room specially built by his father, Lin Zhenyan. Lin Jie uses those advantages to train Cheng Chi and Qin Ming intensely, but also extends unusual generosity to martial artists he recognizes as promising. 5 6
