Background

Li Qingliang formerly served as an attendant to a great Lineage. A lingering injury forced him to return to Yunlin County, where he established Greenwood Martial Hall in a converted private residence. 3

His martial hall teaches the foundational Willow Stake and Flurry Fist. Li regards martial training as body tempering and refinement of vitality and blood rather than flashy forms; he warns students that failed breakthroughs can permanently damage their foundations. 3

He initially concentrated his limited resources on Bai Yu, whom he accepted as his final disciple because of Bai's exceptional talent. Although Zhou Muyun's diligence impressed him, Li hesitated to invest fully in a disciple with poor innate aptitude. 8 12 20

Story Role

Establishing Greenwood Martial Hall

Li accepts the sixteen-year-old Zhou Muyun after examining his bones and meridians, taking eight taels of silver for half a year of tuition. He immediately teaches Zhou the Willow Stake and introduces him to the risks and hierarchy of martial cultivation. 3

Recognizing Zhou Muyun's Potential

Although he initially judges Zhou's Ding Middle bone aptitude as limiting, Li gradually recognizes that Zhou's relentless effort is exceptional.
