Background / History

Bai Yu joined Greenwood Martial Hall shortly before Zhou Muyun. Though initially timid and submissive, he possessed exceptional natural aptitude and quickly became Li Qingliang's favored disciple. His family circumstances were somewhat better than Zhou's, but his talent transformed his standing far more decisively. 6 10

His breakthrough to the Tempered Bone Realm earned him immediate personal discipleship. The Leng and Li Households then offered him thirty taels of silver and twenty jin of nourishing meat each month, expecting him to represent their interests later; he did not need to take an official posting. 6 7

After attaining Organ Refinement in under three months, Bai Yu became Li Qingliang's final disciple through a formal tea ceremony. The title meant Li Qingliang intended to pass on his lifetime of learning without reservation. 12
