Background

The Martial Soul cultivation system was originally created by the God Realm to reduce the number of soul beasts. After thousands of years, Martial Soul theory is described as stagnant, with most theorists compiling inherited knowledge rather than producing major innovations. 92

A Martial Soul's innate quality determines far more than its outward category. Bibi Dong states that ordinary Martial Souls awaken with no more than innate rank-ten Soul Power, while innate rank twenty indicates a god-tier Martial Soul. 15

Martial Souls do not have a single universal form. Li Qinglian's Death Divine Tree manifests as a colossal pitch-black tree whose gnarled branches resemble an ancient dragon and whose leaves bear a ghastly white radiance. 1 2
