Chapter 4: Prison Break (1)
The sturdy clasp turned into flexible plastic.
The glove came off easily.
He wiped the sweat from his hands on his hospital gown. "This place really has no respect for human rights. My hands were soaked in sweat until the skin peeled."
"Then... it's time to break out!"
He looked at the panel only he could see.
Time-Space Gate: Cooling Down (1714h-26m-13s)
"Get out of here and find somewhere to lie low."
Anywhere was better than getting dragged out and beaten by a bunch of superheroes every day.
If not for that mad doctor who loved electroshock therapy, Li Zu really would not have wanted to leave Arkham.
The outside world looked even more dangerous than this place, and Batman even killed people!
And Joker definitely was not a good boss, either.
Having made up his mind, Li Zu walked over to the iron door.
He grabbed the iron door with both hands and activated his ability.
The material of the iron door visibly began to change.
Starting from where his palms touched it, the change spread outward.
Toyification. It seemed that anything he touched could become a childlike toy.
Like the iron bars, which turned into decorative ribbons, looking just like ornaments hanging from a Christmas tree.
Sometimes, part of it would turn into nylon.
By the time the lock had also become a toy, Li Zu's head was already growing heavy, as though he had worked all day and then put in overtime until four in the morning, leaving him utterly drained.
When he let go, the iron door before him had already become a "toy," even painted in bright blue and pink.
"So it can be used like this?" He patted the door. It was made of hard plastic.
Then he tugged twice on the ribbons the iron bars had become.
The lock was ordinary plastic. With Li Zu's body after "electroshock therapy," he could easily twist it apart.
Li Zu swaggered right out of the "hospital room."
The "fellow patient" across from him, who constantly rammed his head against the iron door, stopped and looked at Li Zu hopefully.
There were always some "talents" here who found their own ways to escape.
And the "friendship" between them meant that when one person escaped, they could bring others along.
Of course, the greater use of "friendship" was to provide cannon fodder and draw attention.
But someone could always escape amid the chaos, and everyone believed they would not be the cannon fodder.
They just had to run a little faster than their companions!
"Let me out!"
"Quick, let me out!"
"..."
Hands stretched out from the cells, shouting at Li Zu. With Li Zu's ability, he could easily open every one of their doors.
"Mhm, mhm~" Li Zu nodded seriously, like a general manager carefully listening to the opinions of his company departments.
Amid the excited, expectant gazes of the "fellow patients," he said with great seriousness, "I can't let you out. You're all mentally ill. Letting you out would be extremely dangerous."
All the "fellow patients" froze, then immediately started cursing loudly.
Who here was not mentally ill? Anyone who was not would have been locked up in Blackgate Penitentiary long ago!
And compared to danger, wasn't Toyman, who followed Joker around all day, even more dangerous? Joker was a super-madman who could stand beside a nuclear bomb and press the red button without changing expression! Everyone who came into contact with him was crazy too!
"Bye-bye, everyone~"
Li Zu waved. Then, amid the curses, spittle, and arms waving through the cell doors, he did something no madman could believe.
He spread his arms and shouted, "Hahahaha! I successfully broke out of prison!!!"
In an instant, all the nearby "hospital rooms" fell silent.
You had only escaped your "hospital room," but you were still inside Arkham Asylum. How did that count as a successful prison break?
In the distance, David, an orderly already sick to death of the madmen's incessant chatter, was walking over with a rubber baton in hand. He planned to pick a few unlucky bastards and give them some careful "treatment," only to see a figure spread his arms and shout that he had successfully escaped from prison.
"Damn it!"
David recognized that bastard at a glance.
As an orderly at Arkham Asylum, David could summarize the different "bastard" traits of every madman under his care and categorize them accordingly.
Some were crazy but still knew fear. Some were incredibly strong and even ate people. Others were mentally deranged, their thoughts a complete mess.
That bastard was obviously the hardest kind to deal with: a madman with utterly chaotic thinking.
He yanked the walkie-talkie from his waist. "This is B2. David speaking! Toyman has escaped! I repeat, Toyman has escaped!"
David had barely lowered the walkie-talkie when the B2 alarm went off.
Within two minutes at most, Arkham's burly orderlies and the special police would arrive.
When that happened, a brutal beating and an increased electroshock therapy schedule would be unavoidable.
"Kid, looks like you're out of luck!"
David slowly approached Li Zu. Then, from the corner of his eye, he caught sight of Li Zu's cell, and his pupils involuntarily shrank.
The cell door had become a vividly colored plastic door full of "fairy-tale charm."
Yet Li Zu stood there without running or shouting. He ignored David and merely turned his head, looking over the cells one by one as though selecting something.
It looked like he was planning to release several more madmen and create chaos!
This was also a common trick Arkham's madmen used when escaping.
"I'll give you a few good whacks before you turn another door into a toy!" David was displeased by Li Zu's attitude of treating him like air. He swung the rubber baton through the air, making it whistle as it cut through the wind.
His actions were not as reckless as they appeared. Instead, he advanced step by step, aiming to take Li Zu down in a single blow.
After all, the other man was a supercriminal. Countless lessons from the past had taught David that he had to act carefully.
"Ah!"
Li Zu suddenly said in delight, "Found it!"
"What?" David asked instinctively, only to see Li Zu turn around and charge at him.
"Madman, do you really think you can beat me?" David warily watched Li Zu's hands, but soon found confidence in his rubber baton.
Toyman was no martial arts master. He was just a weak young man. Even a healthy adult woman could easily knock him down.
Boom!
Something crashed down behind him.
"What is that madman doing?"
Boom!
Another crash!
David could not figure out what was behind him, but he did not dare turn around, because Toyman's hands in front of him were even more dangerous!
Thud!
This time, it was a dull impact. David was struck in the shoulder, staggered, and fell to the ground, his rubber baton flying from his hand!
This is bad! David's heart skipped a beat.
As he fell sideways, he caught a glimpse of a large box behind him. But why had a box made three sounds?
The box had clearly struck his shoulder just now. Although it was not heavy, getting hit by it had thrown him off balance.
"Ah, finally hit you!" Li Zu bent down, picked up the rubber baton, and walked step by step toward David.
Before David could get up and fight back, Li Zu decisively knocked him unconscious with a single blow.
"All right, keys, keys..." Li Zu bent over and searched the unconscious David, finding a ring of keys.
"Quick, let me out!"
"Let me out! Hurry! Hurry up!"
"Let's go kill that bastard Quill Arkham together!"
The cries of Li Zu's "fellow patients" somehow drowned out the alarm at one point.
Some even suggested giving that electroshock master some "repayment" and helping Li Zu vent his anger, but Li Zu ignored them all.
Holding the keys, Li Zu walked toward a cell under the expectant gazes of his "fellow patients."

The lock opened.
"You'd better not talk in a moment, or we'll be in trouble~" Li Zu said to the fellow patient inside the "hospital room."
He had barely pulled out the key when the man inside the cell impatiently yanked open the iron door.
"Idiot, if I could escape, would I still be waiting around here like a fool?" He shoved Li Zu aside and prepared to flee.
Bang!
The rubber baton struck the back of his neck, and the man collapsed at once.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Li Zu bent down and gave him a few more blows, then dragged the man back into the hospital room under the watchful eyes of the "fellow patients."
"I told you not to talk!"
Click!
Li Zu actually locked himself inside the hospital room as well.
