To Clark, Lynn was merely a friend he had met for the first time and found fairly agreeable. Lynn's words could only influence him so much.

Still, the phrase "with great power comes great responsibility" weighed heavily on Clark's mind.

His adoptive father, Jonathan Kent, had said something similar before. That was also one reason why Clark wanted to be a farmer himself, while Jonathan had always refused to let his son do so and hoped he would go to the city instead.

Jonathan believed Clark should use his strength to help more people.

His father had told him to hide himself, never to expose himself under any circumstances. Yet at the same time, his father had also told him to help Earthlings in whatever identity he wished and to become an Earthling as much as possible.

Clark had been confused, but the words he heard from Lynn today gave him a great deal of inspiration.

With greater power came greater responsibility. Sometimes, responsibility had already fallen upon your shoulders the moment you were born.

"We're all born carrying responsibilities. Sometimes, you just haven't realized they're there."

Lynn's timely finishing blow gave Clark the final push.

"Lynn, you're right."

A resolution was not something made
