The next day, Alfred clearly remembered what he had said at the dinner table the night before. This was already the third time he had come to Lynn to confirm whether Lynn had made any recordings or videos.

"Do I really look that much like a bad guy? Why would I record anything?"

After an awkward laugh, Alfred left. He still had to go next door to apologize to Jonathan and say goodbye. After all, Jonathan had been thoroughly plied with alcohol yesterday too. Alfred had brought the liquor, so he bore some responsibility.

Lynn did not need to worry about that. He had not forced Superman to drink, after all. Still, not actually recording Alfred and Jonathan Kent's conversation had truly been a tactical error.

"Looks like I need to restock the stuff in my spatial bag."

Lynn was sorting through his belongings at home when Alfred quickly returned.

"What happened to Clark? Where did he go? Traveling?"

Alfred said he had not seen Clark. Jonathan had specifically mentioned that Clark had left earlier, and had gone quite early. He had not gone off to work, though—he had gone traveling.

"Traveling, huh? Traveling is good. If he doesn't travel, how are we supposed to ask him out to have fun later?"

Lynn actually seemed rather happy, leaving Alfred somewhat baffled. What did that have to do with whether Clark traveled or not?

Lynn did not want to explain. He merely said that they should leave as well.

By convention, now that Alfred was awake, he would naturally be the one driving.

"I can't drive at all. If you don't drive, then Kitty will have to drive."

Just as Kitty eagerly sprang toward the driver's seat, Alfred took the driver's seat himself and drove Lynn toward Gotham.
