When night fell completely, Mud Bay Alley sank into silence.
Following the location Niu Niu had described, Fang Han silently made his way toward the old locust tree at the alley entrance.
His footsteps were exceedingly light, making almost no sound.
His figure blended into the darkness.
The mottled shadows on the walls, piles of debris, and slanted wooden props all provided perfect cover.
Elsewhere.
At a noodle stall outside Mud Bay Alley.
Skinny Monkey and his two companions sat around a low table, eating until they were drenched in sweat.
The noodle stall was small, and its owner was a gaunt old man with graying hair and beard.
After eating and drinking their fill, Skinny Monkey wiped his mouth and casually tossed his bamboo chopsticks onto the table.
He stood, patted his backside, and swaggered off without a care.
The gaunt old man shuffled forward with his back bent, forcing out a few words. "Take care, sirs, take care..."
He did not dare mention the cost of the noodles.
In fact, he only wished for Skinny Monkey and the other two to finish eating and leave as quickly as possible.
Making a living in this place, he had seen far too many things like this.
Dragon King Gang members eating without paying was simply taken for granted.
If anyone dared ask for money, they might have their stall smashed if they were lucky, or get beaten black and blue if they were not. Old bones could not endure such punishment.
The three cursed, laughed, and chatted, their voices echoing through the empty little street.
They soon turned into the alley, their figures swallowed by the gloom.
Once inside the alley.
Skinny Monkey walked in front, with his two lackeys following behind on either side.
One lackey sidled up to Skinny Monkey and lowered his voice.
"Boss Monkey, when do we make our move?"
Skinny Monkey glanced at him, a bamboo toothpick hanging from his mouth as he chewed it slowly.
His tone carried the seasoned confidence of someone giving orders.
"What are you in such a hurry for? We move after everyone is sound asleep tonight. By then, they will not wake up even if they want to.
Once the fire starts, they will still be dreaming. By the time they smell the smoke, their door will already be burned through."
After saying that.
Skinny Monkey seemed to remember something. He stopped and turned to instruct them.
"Since we have nothing else to do, let's go get some tung oil first.
Tonight, we'll pour it over that Fang bastard's house. Once the flames rise, no one will be able to put them out even if they try.
Tung oil catches the moment it touches fire. Even water won't do much once it's burning."
The two lackeys immediately nodded and bowed, competing to flatter him.
"Boss Monkey is wise!"
"Boss Monkey really thinks things through. We only thought of setting a fire. Who would have thought to use tung oil?"
The flattery made Skinny Monkey feel wonderful all over. The corners of his lips rose, and his steps grew lighter.
He had no idea that a figure was hiding in the dark at the bend in the alley.
Like a crouching beast, silently waiting for them to approach...
Fang Han had arrived long ago.
When Skinny Monkey and the other two had been eating noodles at the stall, he had already locked onto them from afar.
The cuffs of Skinny Monkey's gray-blue jacket bore the Dragon King Gang's insignia.
The other two had the same mark on their clothes.
It was them!
These were the three people Niu Niu had described.
Fang Han's gaze was icy. Once he had confirmed his targets, he did not rush to act.
Instead, he quietly followed behind the three, trailing them at an unhurried pace.
Although there were few pedestrians near Mud Bay Alley after dark, the occasional late traveler still passed by.
There were too many eyes. He did not want to expose himself.
He needed to find a suitable place before making his move.
Completely unaware, Skinny Monkey and his two companions laughed and chatted as they headed deeper into the alley.
Fang Han quickened his pace, moving soundlessly through the darkness like a ghost.
He took a shortcut.
He circled through a narrower side alley and got ahead of Skinny Monkey's group.
He stopped behind a corner, held his breath, and waited for the three to approach.
The sound of footsteps drew closer and closer.
Skinny Monkey was still laughing and cursing about something, while his two lackeys' laughter rose and fell.
Fang Han's upper body was completely concealed by darkness. Only his eyes gleamed with cold light.
Skinny Monkey turned the corner and abruptly halted.
There was a figure ahead.
Because Fang Han stood in the shadows, the light was too dim.
Even squinting, Skinny Monkey could not make out who stood opposite him. He could only vaguely see a human outline blocking the path.
He frowned but did not stop walking. With a fierce glare, he opened his mouth and cursed at Fang Han.
"What dog bastard dares block Boss Monkey's path? Blind piece of trash, get the hell out of my way!"
Fang Han did not move. The corner of his mouth lifted slightly as he let out a faint scoff.
Before Skinny Monkey could understand what that scoff meant, the other man's fist was already upon him.
Fang Han's fist, long primed and ready, shot out with lightning speed!
It struck Skinny Monkey squarely in the chest!
Crack!
The crisp sound of breaking bone echoed through the alley.
Skinny Monkey's chest visibly caved inward!
His entire body crashed heavily to the ground.
"Blergh!"
Skinny Monkey opened his mouth and sprayed out a huge mouthful of blood.
He did not even have time to scream before he was killed by that single punch.
The two lackeys behind him were instantly terrified out of their wits.
They stood frozen in place, their entire bodies trembling uncontrollably.
They stared at Boss Monkey's body lying on the ground, dead beyond all doubt.
Their minds went blank, and their legs shook so badly they nearly gave out.
One of them reacted faster than the other and dropped to his knees.
He kowtowed frantically, his voice cracking with fear.
"Spare me, sir! Spare me! We're only errand boys, this has nothing to do with us! Spare me, sir!"
Anyone who could kill Boss Monkey with one punch had to be a Martial Artist!
They were nothing more than minor lackeys who ran errands and did odd jobs for the gang.
They could bully ordinary honest folk, but against a true Martial Artist, they could not resist in the slightest.
If they obediently knelt and begged for mercy, perhaps they could still save their lives.
The other man came to his senses as well and dropped to his knees with a thud.
His forehead struck the ground again and again as he begged incoherently for mercy.
Fang Han said nothing.
He stepped forward, his figure flickering like a ghost.
He unleashed the basic movement technique of the Nine Flood Dragon Palms, his steps light and his movements agile.
Both palms shot out together, powerful palm force pouring forth as he struck twice in rapid succession.
One palm landed atop one man's head.
The soft, sinister palm force penetrated his body without a sound!
The man's pleas abruptly ceased!
His body stiffened violently, his eyes swiftly losing focus before he crumpled limply to the ground.
The other palm landed on the second man's chest.
The man did not even let out a grunt. His body tipped backward, and he fell flat on his back, lifeless.
Unlike the fierce and domineering force of the Gale-Breaking Fist.
At the perfected level, the Nine Flood Dragon Palms possessed even greater killing power.
Its palm force was soft and pervasive, entering the body to directly shatter the heart channels and internal organs without damaging the bones or flesh.
Fang Han came to a stop, his breathing steady and his expression unchanged.
The three corpses lay in the alley. Fang Han looked down at them, his face utterly calm.
He crouched down and began searching the bodies.
He found ten taels on Skinny Monkey and two taels on the other two, for a total of twelve taels of silver.
Fang Han tucked the silver into his clothes, stood, and looked around.
Without wasting time, Fang Han dragged the corpses deeper into the alley.
He needed to dispose of the evidence more thoroughly.
After all, Skinny Monkey and the others had met their end in Mud Bay Alley.
If he did not handle the bodies properly, even the Dragon King Gang would eventually trace the trail back to him.
Then trouble would never end, and future dangers would be endless.
Having lived in Mud Bay Alley since childhood.
Fang Han knew every alley and every corner here intimately.
Not far from this spot.
There was a very concealed hole in the ground that no one would notice without looking carefully.
Below that hole ran an underground river with swift, turbulent currents.
Fang Han threw the three corpses into the hole, one after another.
Standing at the edge of the hole, his gaze was as cold as ice, and his face showed no emotion.
Tomorrow was the Demon-Hunting Trial held by the two schools.
Once they reached the outskirts of the Transverse Mountains, he had to get rid of Chen You and eliminate all future trouble.
He would leave Chen You in the Transverse Mountains forever!
