Roar—!!!!!
Following the plan, Su Wuming and the other two were heading toward another underground passage entrance. They were almost there.
A familiar beastly roar behind them made all three stop and look back.
"Another one!!!"
"How are we supposed to fight this? The instructors are already struggling just to hold one back."
The experts rushing outside the city had been constrained while facing the first troll. With civilians still not evacuated from the city, they had not dared unleash attacks with too much impact, lest the aftershocks of battle harm innocents.
Moreover, this Frost Troll was no ordinary Golden Rank creature. Frost covered its entire body, and its knotted muscles were like steel. Ordinary attacks could not break through its defenses at all.
Yet the appearance of another troll gave all the experts an immediate headache.
The one that appeared later did not hurry to join the battle. Behind it, ten gigantic ice balls rolled over and stopped in front of it.
Then the troll stomped the ground fiercely. Ten ice pillars instantly rose from the earth and stopped at the level of its waist, perfectly supporting the ten massive ice balls.
"Not good! There are Snowwhite Thunder Bears inside those ice balls! The troll is going to send them into the city! Stop it!"
As a Mind Master, Mo Lan was the first to perceive the creatures inside the ice balls.
Though she warned them in time, it was still a step too late.
The troll abruptly swung the weapon in its hand, something resembling a baseball bat, and swept it across all ten ice balls in rapid succession.
The sounds of ten ice balls being struck rang out almost simultaneously. When they looked again, the house-sized ice balls were shooting toward the city at tremendous speed.
No matter where this attack landed, it would deal a devastating blow.
As fate would have it, one of them happened to be flying directly toward Su Wuming and the other two.
By the time the three saw it clearly, before they could react, the ice ball had already arrived and smashed into a high-rise in front of them.
In a single hit, the ice ball tore straight through the building, leaving behind a gaping hole dozens of meters wide. The high-rise began to sway precariously, ready to collapse at any moment.
A thunderous crash followed, and the earth began to tremble violently. Buildings around them collapsed in swaths.
Several cracks instantly appeared in the ground and spread toward Su Wuming.
Caught off guard by the shock, all three lost their footing.
But it was not over yet. An advertising sign atop a building above them came crashing down, while chunks of rubble and broken walls rained down around them, sealing off their retreat.
[Rubber Balloon]!!!
Fortunately, Su Wuming reacted quickly. Even though he could not stand steadily, it did not stop him from using this move. At the critical moment, he shielded Qin Ming and Brother Li from the deadly sign.
But rubble continued to fall all around them. Su Wuming could only grit his teeth and keep the breath in his belly from escaping.
The other two came to their senses as well and did not stay idle. They began raising earthen walls around them, helping Su Wuming ease the pressure.
The collapse lasted for more than a minute. During that time, every second felt like a year to Su Wuming, and his face turned purple from holding his breath.
Once he sensed that nothing else was falling from above, Su Wuming became like a deflated balloon, bouncing wildly inside the earthen cube Qin Ming and Brother Li had created.
He bounced more than a dozen times before finally landing, gasping for breath and greedily sucking in the little oxygen left beneath the ruins.
"What was that just now?" Having calmed down, Qin Ming asked Brother Li.
Brother Li was, after all, a demon hunter and had seen far more than Qin Ming.
"It's a siege tactic commonly used by Frost Trolls. There was a Snowwhite Thunder Bear inside that ice ball..."
Brother Li had heard about it from an old demon hunter, which was why he had recognized the ice ball's true nature at a glance.
By then, Su Wuming had recovered somewhat and was eating a chicken leg to replenish his strength.
Since they were trapped beneath the ruins anyway, Brother Li took the opportunity to teach the two of them about it.
The Snowwhite Thunder Bear was a Silver Battle General Tier demon beast, ten zhang tall, possessing both ice and lightning attributes.
The ice attribute gave it formidable defense and attack power, while the lightning attribute made up for its weakness in speed and further enhanced its offensive strength.
With both offense and defense, it was the proudest general under the Frost Troll's command.
Its unique baseball-style siege tactic had caused human spirit martial artists no end of suffering in the past.
After hearing Brother Li's explanation, the other two could not help drawing sharp breaths, reducing the oxygen in the enclosed space even further.
Just then, the walkie-talkie in Qin Ming's arms suddenly crackled to life.
"Young Master Qin, are you all right over there? We've run into an obstacle here. Dry City Bridge has been blocked by an ice ball that suddenly fell from the sky. Several fire-element spirit martial artists are trying to melt it. How much longer will you need?"
"Don't! Don't touch the ice ball!! Run! There's a Silver Tier—"
Before Qin Ming could finish, a burst of static erupted from the walkie-talkie. Clearly, the signal had been cut off by something.
Su Wuming stood beside him and had heard the exchange clearly. The instant the signal cut out, his heart sank, and an ominous feeling surged within him.
He suddenly leaped up and, like a madman, unleashed [Rubber Gatling] at the ruins above him.
"Get the hell out of my way!"
On the other end of that walkie-talkie were not only the people Qin Ming had brought, but also Lin Pangpang, the dean, and their group. There was no way Su Wuming could remain calm.
As he frantically attacked the rubble overhead, Qin Ming and Brother Li suffered miserably. Falling stones forced them to dodge in every direction.
Su Wuming ignored the falling rubble entirely. His physique was immune to that kind of attack anyway.
Besides, he was anxious, and he had just replenished his depleted strength with the chicken leg.
The barrage lasted for a full minute before he finally blasted a huge hole through the ruins above.
Then he grabbed the two men, who had nearly been buried alive beneath the rubble, stretched his arm through the hole to seize a remaining section of an uncollapsed building, and charged out.
The moment Qin Ming and Brother Li emerged, they kept spitting dust from their mouths. They were coughing badly, tears streaming down their faces.
Once outside, the three were drawn to the battle ahead. Two squads totaling twenty people were locked in fierce combat with the Snowwhite Thunder Bear.
One of them held a C4 bomb in his arms and was searching for an opportunity to blow up the underground passage entrance behind the Snowwhite Thunder Bear.
Yet he could not find an opening. Silver arcs of electricity flickered across every part of the Snowwhite Thunder Bear's body. Anyone who came within ten meters of it would be automatically attacked by those arcs.
Seeing this, Su Wuming did not leave immediately. Instead, he suddenly rushed down. While the man's attention was focused on the passage entrance, Su Wuming's arm abruptly stretched out and snatched the C4 bomb from his arms.
"Damn it! Where did this kid come from? Don't make trouble—give me back the bomb!"
Su Wuming ignored him and activated the Armament Haki within his body, coating both his arm and the C4 bomb.
Then, under the stunned gazes of both squads, he suddenly extended his arm and hurled it directly at the underground passage entrance.
"Damn, are you crazy? The electric arcs will trigger the bomb and make it explode early!!!"
But the instant the spirit martial artist finished speaking, Su Wuming's arm shot swiftly between the Snowwhite Thunder Bear's legs. The seemingly unstoppable electric arcs did not react at all.
Everyone was dumbfounded.
Why were the electric arcs not attacking him?
"What are you standing around for? Detonate it!!" After accurately placing the bomb inside the underground passage entrance, Su Wuming saw that the man was still frozen in shock and hurriedly shouted.
"Oh, right, right. Thanks, little brother." As he spoke, he immediately pressed the backup detonator in his hand.
With a boom, the underground passage entrance behind the Snowwhite Thunder Bear collapsed completely. A burst of screams came from within, only to stop abruptly the instant the entrance caved in.
"Retreat!!"
