Inside the villa, Lu Xi's phone suddenly rang.
He picked it up, listened for a few moments after answering, and the corners of his mouth lifted slightly before he hung up.
Daisy asked curiously, "What is it?"
Lu Xi chuckled. "Ha, I'm going out for a bit. I'll be back soon."
It was Coulson from S.H.I.E.L.D., calling to ask for help.
The situation was urgent, and Lu Xi had not yet decided what terms to demand, so he simply had S.H.I.E.L.D. agree to a blank check.
He guessed S.H.I.E.L.D. really was desperate if they were willing to accept such terms.
If Lu Xi asked to be director someday, or demanded eight or ten billion dollars, Nick Fury would probably be in an awkward spot.
Actually, even if he did not go, Hulk could resolve Abomination on his own.
But since he had already come to this Marvel world and Ancient One's attitude had been made clear, he did not need to worry too much about the butterfly effect.
Lu Xi also intended to stretch his limbs, make an appearance, and formally announce his arrival to this world.
As soon as he finished speaking, Lu Xi instantly appeared in the courtyard. Six wings unfurled behind him, radiating dazzling light.
Accompanied by a deafening sonic boom, he shot into the sky like a bolt of white lightning.
Seeing this, Daisy immediately turned to the television excitedly.
Last time, at the S.H.I.E.L.D. base, she had only heard that Lord Lucifer had defeated a demon king of Hell.
But the emergency evacuation notice had kept her from seeing it in person. This time, she finally had a chance to witness Lord Lucifer's splendor firsthand.
Wanda and Pietro also immediately perked up, their eyes fixed on the television screen in anticipation.
In less than two seconds, Lu Xi's conspicuous figure appeared on the broadcast.
His six wings spread behind him, and a terrifying aura radiated from his entire body, drawing shocked cries from passersby.
"Are my eyes playing tricks on me? Is that an angel?"
"Oh my god, has Judgment Day arrived? Is the apocalypse coming?"
"Look! The angel came to deal with that monster!"
The moment Lu Xi appeared, Abomination sensed a powerful threat.
He abandoned the helicopter at once, turned, and lunged at Lu Xi with a low roar.
A trace of disdain hung on Lu Xi's lips. With a flash, he instantly appeared behind Abomination.
He raised his leg and kicked Abomination squarely in the back.
The force behind that kick was terrifying. Abomination's massive body flew out of control like a kite with its string cut.
He traced an arc through the air and flew straight toward an office building.
The office workers inside watched helplessly as Abomination's enormous face drew closer and closer, their faces instantly filling with terror.
Some could not help but let out desperate screams.
"Mom! Save me!"
Lu Xi reacted swiftly, raising a hand and making a grabbing motion toward Abomination through the air.
In an instant, invisible telekinetic force formed a giant hand and suspended Abomination in midair.
Having narrowly escaped disaster, the office workers burst into cheers.
They embraced one another in tears, thanking the mysterious powerhouse who seemed like a savior.
When Hulk saw Lu Xi join the battle, he seemed to instinctively regard him as an enemy.
"Roar!"
His eyes instantly turned blood-red, his muscles swelled, and he raised his enormous fist with a deafening roar before charging fiercely at Lu Xi.
Lu Xi frowned slightly. In his eyes, Hulk's ferocious attack seemed like a slow-motion replay, every detail crystal clear.
Hulk's fist tore through the air with a howling wind, smashing down at him with overwhelming force.
Lu Xi merely tilted his body slightly, then casually raised a palm to meet the massive fist.
The difference in their sizes was simply too great. Hulk stood a full 2.7 meters tall, his bulging muscles brimming with a chilling sense of power.
By comparison, Lu Xi's 1.88-meter frame looked relatively small before him.
The sight made the surrounding onlookers, as well as the viewers watching the live broadcast on television, cry out in worry.
Some timid citizens could not bear to watch the brutal scene they expected to follow and hurriedly covered their eyes.
However, the bloody scene they feared did not occur.
Hulk's punch was firmly caught, as though clamped in an iron vise, unable to advance even half an inch.
The extreme fury on Hulk's face instantly turned into disbelief.
He widened his bloodshot eyes, seemingly unable to believe what he was seeing.
Then, he let out a deafening roar:
"Hulk smash!"
His voice was like a heavy hammer, making the surrounding air hum.
Before the sound had faded, Hulk swung his other skillet-sized fist, once again smashing it at Lu Xi with the force of an avalanche.
The air along its path was compressed into a shrill howl.
"Bang!"
A dull impact rang out. Lu Xi's expression remained unchanged as he used his other hand to precisely block the deadly blow as well.
Then he applied a slight downward force with his wrists. It looked like a casual movement, yet it contained limitless strength.
"Aaargh!!!"
Hulk let out a pained roar. Agonizing pain shot through his restrained joints, twisting his features together in misery.
To relieve the unbearable pressure, Hulk involuntarily dropped to one knee, his massive body lowering its center of gravity along with him.
Lu Xi's lips curled into an amused smile as he teased, "I gave you a chance, but you still couldn't do anything with it."
Then he backhanded him with lightning speed, heavily slapping Hulk across the head.
The force of that slap was astonishing. Hulk instantly spun at tremendous speed like a wildly whirling top.
Then he flew hundreds of meters away.
Watching Hulk's comical appearance, Lu Xi could not help but supply background music in his mind.
Spin~ Jump~ I close my eyes~~
He no longer paid Hulk any attention and turned his gaze back to Abomination.
Abomination was still suspended in midair, flailing his limbs wildly without anything to brace against.
Yet he remained unwilling to submit, struggling desperately and releasing low roars to vent his fury.
Lu Xi narrowed his eyes slightly, clenched his outstretched hand again, and suddenly tightened it.
With that motion, Abomination's limbs were instantly twisted viciously by invisible force, contorted into pretzel-like shapes on the spot.
"Aah!!!"
Abomination let out a shrill scream filled with agony.
At last, he could no longer endure it. His eyes rolled back, and he passed out on the spot.
Seeing that the task was complete, Lu Xi lightly stretched.
This battle truly had not taken much out of him.
If anything, he had needed to keep holding back carefully to avoid hitting too hard.
After all, when S.H.I.E.L.D. requested help, they had specifically mentioned that they wanted him alive. Otherwise, with Lu Xi's strength, he would have reduced Abomination to nothing with a single punch long ago.
In the distance, Hulk crashed heavily to the ground and only regained consciousness after quite a while.
When he saw that the battle had ended and looked at Lu Xi again, a deep fear unconsciously appeared in his eyes.
He knew the gap between himself and the powerhouse before him was as vast as heaven and earth. He was simply no match.
So he did not dare linger. He turned and rapidly leaped and ran toward the outskirts of the city, his retreating figure looking somewhat bedraggled.
Lu Xi could not be bothered to chase him. Once the Avengers storyline began, S.H.I.E.L.D. would most likely still seek out Dr. Banner and recruit him.
