History

Wanda arrived at Lu Xi's villa as Baron Strucker's covert envoy, seeking greater power to avenge herself on Tony Stark. She was prepared to “pay any price,” but Lu Xi immediately identified Hydra's influence and challenged her belief that Stark was responsible for Sokovia's suffering. When Wanda revealed that Strucker held Pietro captive, she accepted Lu Xi's three-month wager: if evidence proved Hydra's guilt, she would work for him; otherwise, he would help her gain strength or take revenge. Lu Xi rescued Pietro from Sokovia almost immediately, allowing the siblings to remain at his villa. 14 15

Wanda initially remained focused on revenge and even offered her soul in exchange for power. Lu Xi refused, recognizing that her true potential—and the value of a contract with her—had not yet awakened.
