Fudge: "Dumbledore Is Going After Me!"
At the same time that Lester received the Sorting Hat, the Battle of Diagon Alley was also drawing to a close.
Dumbledore just used the Phoenix's power to teleport to Diagon Alley when he discovered that the terrorist attack by the Soviet Union had ended.
A large number of Ministry of Magic Auror patrolled Diagon Alley, searching for and rescuing the injured.
In the Diagon Alley, more than thirty Auror had gathered, protecting hundreds of wizards and civilians.
Next to the central area, a pavilion was erected, where three Auror were assessing the damage to property and belongings.
As for the once bustling Diagon Alley, it has long since become ruins, with smoke and fire everywhere.
Dumbledore strode to the central command post and immediately demanded, "Who is in charge here? Get him out here to see me!"
He desperately wanted to know what had happened. If he could find one of the attackers from the Soviet Union and ask him face-to-face, perhaps he could find out what misunderstanding had occurred.
"Our Director Fudge is in charge of directing this rescue," a Ministry of Magic employee answered honestly.
This is Albus Dumbledore. Although he doesn't hold an official position in the Ministry of Magic, his words still carry considerable weight.
Soon, a quick-thinking Ministry of Magic employee summoned Fudge and informed him that Headmaster Dumbledore had arrived!
"Lord Hafiz, what should we do? That old dog Dumbledore is here! If he sees me, will he just kill me on the spot?!"
Upon hearing that Dumbledore was coming, Fudge panicked. The strongest wizard in the Wizarding World, the culprit who destroyed the three Pure-blood families, was now actually looking for him.
Hafiz remained unperturbed, calmly stating, "It's alright. There are hundreds of Auror here. If Dumbledore dares to attack you, those hundreds of Auror will certainly arrest him."
"While Headmaster Dumbledore is very strong, he is no match for hundreds of Auror."
Fudge was relieved. However, Hafiz had lied to him. With Dumbledore's strength, let alone hundreds of Auror, even if all the wizards in the Wizarding World were gathered together, they might not be enough to defeat him.
Moments later, Fudge, accompanied by several Auror and Hafiz, met Dumbledore at the rescue command center.
The most basic requirement for a politician is to remain expressionless; no matter how turbulent one's heart may be, one's face must remain calm and composed.
"Hello, Headmaster Dumbledore, thank you for coming to support our Ministry of Magic," Fudge said with a smile, showing no hostility towards Dumbledore.
Professor Dumbledore nodded slowly, getting straight to the point. "Hello, Director Fudge. I've heard from Barty that you're a good leader."
"I came here to ask those Soviet Union wizards a few questions. I want to know if there's any misunderstanding here."
Misunderstanding? Fudge sneered inwardly.
If he hadn't happened to be a guest of the Flint family that day, he probably wouldn't have known Dumbledore's true identity.
It must be that old dog Dumbledore did something heinous in the Soviet Union that led to him being targeted.
"I don't think there's any misunderstanding here," Fudge said calmly. "The wizards from Soviet Union have told us everything, and we've sent them to Azkaban according to the law. I think this matter can be closed."
"Is it over?" A flash of anger crossed Dumbledore's eyes.
When those Soviet Union wizards launched their terrorist attack, they were shouting Dumbledore's name. If he didn't find out the truth, wouldn't he be unjustly slandered?
Dumbledore looked at Fudge expressionlessly and said slowly, "Director Fudge, I feel there's something fishy about this matter, so I think it's necessary to personally question those Soviet Union wizards."
"Furthermore, sending prisoners to Azkaban requires the approval of Wizengamot. Isn't what you're doing somewhat against the rules?"
Dumbledore usually all smiles and seems approachable, but when he gets serious, the pressure he exerts is beyond your imagination.
Fudge panicked immediately and looked to Hafiz for help.
Dumbledore followed Fudge's gaze and curiously looked at Hafiz.
It seems that the warden of Azkaban is backing Fudge. Otherwise, Fudge would have sent the man over to him long ago with just a word from him, and wouldn't have dared to argue with him.
Hafiz, dressed in his Auror uniform, acted impartially. "I'm sorry, Professor Dumbledore, but you are merely the Headmaster of Hogwarts, not Auror of the Ministry of Magic. Therefore, you have no right to interrogate mortals."
"Furthermore, these Soviet Union are illegal immigrants; we detained them for illegal entry, so a judgment from Wizengamot is unnecessary."
While handing the Soviet Union over to Dumbledore seem innocuous, what was the justification for it?
Since the ministerial elections inevitably involve opposing Dumbledore, the Azkaban Interest Group have no reason to give Dumbledore face.
Dumbledore's face turned cold, his blue eyes blazing with anger, and he slowly said:
"So, the Ministry of Magic doesn't want an old man like me to know the truth?"
Fudge was on high alert, and the Auror around him almost drew their wands. There was no way around it; Dumbledore furious—this was too terrifying.
Hafiz, unfazed, shouted, "Headmaster Dumbledore, I advise you to go back. We are simply following the rules."
"Besides, this is the Ministry of Magic's emergency response headquarters. You're not a Ministry of Magic employee, so I have no choice but to ask you to leave now!"
When Hafiz heard that Hafiz was going to drive Dumbledore away, he was almost scared to death, even though Fudge was prepared.
Dumbledore stared at Hafiz, Hafiz, without fear, glared back fiercely.
Just when Fudge thought the two sides were about to fight, Dumbledore smiled.
"Okay, I was being presumptuous!"
Although he had a small face, Dumbledore's eyes held no smile, but rather a chilling coldness.
A few minutes later, Dumbledore left.
Everyone present breathed a sigh of relief.
However, Fudge's expression remained grim. He knew that Dumbledore, the legendary old man, was probably about to deal with him.
However, there was no turning back once the arrow was released. When Dumbledore sent men to raid the homes of three Pure-blood families and even sent people to eliminate him, there was no possibility of peaceful coexistence between him and Dumbledore.
There are still three months until the election for Minister of Ministry of Magic, Dumbledore has already offended many.
It's obvious to anyone with a brain that Dumbledore will fully support Crouch becoming minister.
If Crouch really becomes minister, then I'll be in danger.
Fudge then looked at Hafiz with a fawning expression and said, "Lord Hafiz, please help me! That hypocrite Dumbledore is going to get me!"
Hafiz replied firmly, "Rest assured, Mr. Fudge, I, Hafiz, will definitely support your election as Minister for Magic."
"Only someone with your ability, ambition, and genuine dedication to serving the people is qualified to be elected Minister of Ministry of Magic!"
