Duan Yun redeemed Murong Brothers' blade from the pawnshop.

Even now, his heart still ached at the cost.

Holding the blade, he found it difficult to judge its true value.

Since the pawnshop had been willing to pay so much for it, that had to be the minimum value. Unfortunately, Duan Yun knew little about blades. He could only tell that the material and craftsmanship were excellent; the feel of the hilt alone was far beyond that of his broken iron sword.

Yet the blade itself was somewhat dull.

Carrying the blade, he went to find Murong Brothers and said, "Getting this thing back nearly emptied me out."

Murong Brothers smiled. "Looks like you'll be as poor as I am from now on."

Seeing the schadenfreude on his face, Duan Yun said, "If I'm poor, you won't have anything to eat either."

Murong Brothers replied casually, "I've always eaten very little."

In truth, ever since Murong Ling'er had come knocking and Duan Yun had stubbornly refused to leave, Murong Brothers was still lazy, but no longer lazy to quite such an utter extent.

He had begun scrounging meals.

The last time he had been skewered so easily was because he had not eaten his fill.

"What's so special about this blade?" Duan Yun asked.

Other than its fine material and craftsmanship, and the hilt being as smooth to the touch as a girl's hand, he truly could not see why it was worth so much silver.

Murong Brothers shook his head. "Divine weapons are hard to come by. It seems you understand merchandise even less than the pawnshop owner."

As he spoke, he took the blade from Duan Yun.

With a swipe of his hand over the edge, the blade and hilt separated.

Duan Yun jumped, thinking it had broken.
