Many of the Demon Beasts in the Great World were oviparous.

Griffins were one of them.

It was hard to imagine that such a massive aerial predator had hatched from such a "tiny" white egg.

And hatching eggs—especially Demon Beast eggs—was a fascinating field of study.

Different Demon Beasts had different hatching methods. Some had to hatch inside the mother's body, some in water, while others needed to be scorched by blazing fire before they could break their shells.

The Great Wilderness Humans had bred griffins for over ten thousand years, and Wizards had long since developed methods for hatching griffin eggs.

And there was more than one method!

These hatching secrets were not really secrets. Gao Jing had seen them before in miscellaneous records.

That saved him the trouble of looking up materials.

After weighing and comparing the options, he decided to use the most orthodox hatching method.

Source Power Hatching.

Without understanding the tricks of the trade, rashly attempting to hatch one had a very high chance of failure.
