South of the City of Ten Thousand Kings stretched a boundless wilderness.

A Fire-Eyed Rabbit cautiously crawled out of its hidden burrow, raising its furry ears to listen carefully to the sounds around it while sniffing the air.

As one of the lowest-ranked Demon Beasts, the Fire-Eyed Rabbit had very weak combat power and could not defeat some powerful Wild Beasts.

Yet Fire-Eyed Rabbit meat was delicious.

Across this vast wilderness, it had countless natural predators. If it wanted to survive, it had to be careful—then more careful still.

The Fire-Eyed Rabbit had terrible eyesight. Since it could not fit itself with a pair of nearsighted glasses, it could only rely on its keen hearing and sense of smell to detect enemies.

Only after confirming that there were no unusual sounds or scents nearby did the Fire-Eyed Rabbit hop out of its burrow and head for a nearby stream to forage.

Fresh, tender grass was its favorite food. If it could dig up some wild carrots as well, that would be even better.

However, at this very moment, the Fire-Eyed Rabbit had not noticed that, a thousand meters above its head, a pair of incomparably sharp eyes was watching it.

After taking a few bites of tender grass beside the stream, the Fire-Eyed Rabbit suddenly felt its hair stand on end.

It was as though doomsday had descended!
