Background

Qing Tianzhu was consumed by hatred for Itachi Uchiha and rejected Naruto's plea to return to Konoha. He regarded bonds and emotions as obstacles, claiming that his sole remaining bond was his hatred for Itachi. He attacked Naruto at Orochimaru's base, but Naruto overwhelmed him in Nine-Tails Chakra Mode and spared him at Sakura's request. 147

After deciding that Orochimaru had nothing left to teach him, Qing Tianzhu attempted to kill his former master. He despised Orochimaru's habit of manipulating others and rejected the idea of becoming his next vessel. 156 During his confrontation with Itachi, he used the atmospheric conditions created by Fire Release and Amaterasu to call down the natural-lightning technique Qilin.
