Background

Tsunade was found in the Land of Fire's capital after Konoha located her through ANBU. Her first encounter with Doichi Hyuga became a spar after she mistook him for an intruder; he redirected her tremendous strength and threw her aside without directly meeting her attacks 27.

She became involved in uncovering the destruction of the Land of Whirlpools after Rena Uzumaki testified that Konoha-linked operatives had stolen sealing scrolls and taken Uzumaki children. Tsunade forced Hiruzen Sarutobi and the elders to investigate, then discovered that Danzō had used Uzumaki children in Wood Release experiments 28 30.

The revelations left her furious and despondent. After drinking heavily, she challenged Doichi to another fight and was repeatedly defeated by his fluid taijutsu, which turned her own force against her.
