In the original timeline, Ye Qingshui is the low-profile current inheritor of the Nine-Hearted Begonia Clan and the mother of Ye Lingling. Her husband died while Lingling was young, leaving Qingshui as her daughter's sole parent. Although composed before outsiders, she has a teasing and physically affectionate relationship with Lingling, who is comfortable provoking her mother about the Sky Screen's events.
