Background / History
A massive rift opened in the sky and formed the Sky Screen while Lu Xuan confronted Spirit Hall in another spacetime. Its first image showed Lu Xuan summoning the Godslayer Sword and suppressing Qian Xunji's faction; gilded words above the display identified the broadcast as “Another Timeline.” 2
The Screen appeared in the timeline where Tang San and Xiao Wu had only recently arrived at Shrek Academy, displaying events from an alternate history more than twenty years earlier, when Qian Xunji was still alive. 2
It continued to follow Lu Xuan's alternate-timeline journey: his duel with Qian Daoliu, acceptance and training of Bibi Dong, recruitment of Ye Qingshui, and expedition into the Star Dou Great Forest. 3 10 44 48
The broadcast subsequently documented Lu Xuan’s recruitment of Liu Erlong and Ah Yin, his encounters with the Haotian Twins, and his confrontation with the Clear Sky Sect. It also exposed Ah Yin as a transformed hundred-thousand-year Blue Silver Emperor and showed Lu Xuan accepting her as a disciple. 36 54 55 57
Its coverage later expanded to Lu Xuan’s dealings with Bo Saixi and Sea God Island. The Screen showed his return to the ocean, the defeat of the Deep Sea Demonic Whale King, his confrontation with the Sea God’s divine sense, and the staged battle that made him appear to sacrifice himself before two space-times. 74 76 79 83
The Screen’s connection with the observing world also became increasingly consequential. Bibi Dong entered the spiritual consciousness sea of the alternate Holy Maiden Palace and communicated with another version of herself, while Ye Qingshui later crossed into a strange begonia-filled space and encountered her younger self. 64 65
By the time Lu Xuan and his disciples returned to the sea, the Screen was broadcasting a coordinated battle against more than a dozen sea Ferocious Beasts, including the Deep Sea Demonic Whale King. 96 98
Functions & Capabilities
Cross-Timeline Broadcast
The Sky Screen acts as a continent-wide visual link to another timeline.
- It is visible clearly from anywhere on the continent. 2
- Its broadcasts reveal events unknown to the observing timeline, including alternate versions of deceased figures such as Qian Xunji. 2
- It allows viewers to compare divergent fates, particularly Bibi Dong's life with and without Lu Xuan's intervention. 9 10
- It exposes information with major strategic value, including the location of the Icefire Yin Yang Well, immortal-herb properties, cultivation methods, and combat techniques. 13 17 24 40
- It continues to transmit large-scale battles and distant events in real time, including Lu Xuan’s voyage across the ocean and the sea-beast ambush at the Death Strait. 74 96 98
- Its reach eventually encompasses divine observers. Poseidon and the Asura God became aware of the Screen and identified it as a window into another space-time. 69
Dynamic Framing
The Screen does not remain fixed on a single viewpoint.
- It initially froze on Lu Xuan's martial-soul manifestation after descending. 2
- During Lu Xuan's use of Autumn Water Mirror Illuminating the Spirit Platform, it shifted perspective to show the reactions and exposed obsessions of people in Spirit Hall. 5
- It gave the audience a close-up of Qian Daoliu's emotional reaction to Bo Saixi's manifested image, publicly undermining his composed persona. 6
- It later shifted away from Lu Xuan to follow Yu Xiaogang, Liu Erlong, and the consequences of Yu Xiaogang’s misconduct. 36 40
- It presents simultaneous or geographically separated developments, including the original timeline’s political reactions and the alternate timeline’s cultivation, travel, and battles. 26 54 64
- It can focus on private conversations, divine confrontations, and massive battlefield formations rather than only displaying the viewpoint of the strongest combatant. 65 69 79 97
Privacy Censorship
The Screen selectively obscures private or unsuitable scenes.
- When Bibi Dong entered Lu Xuan's medicinal bath area, the display became a blurred mosaic despite physical screens already blocking the scene. 25
- The censorship prevented the audience from seeing Bibi Dong's private bathing scene. 25
- The Screen nevertheless continues to expose embarrassing conversations, emotional reactions, scandals, and compromising behavior when those events fall outside its censorship threshold. 29 33 69 77
Cross-Timeline Connection
The Sky Screen is associated with contact between the two timelines rather than functioning solely as a one-way display.
- Bibi Dong was able to enter the spiritual consciousness sea of the alternate Holy Maiden Palace and communicate with the younger version of herself. 64
- Ye Qingshui theorized that such crossings would become more frequent and might eventually permit direct travel to the Screen’s world. 65
- Ye Qingshui subsequently awakened in a begonia-filled space, encountered her younger self, and heard a child who appeared to be the younger Ye Lingling. 65
- The Screen therefore serves as a visible manifestation of a wider space-time connection whose full rules remain unknown. 64 65
Divine and Multiversal Visibility
Although the Screen initially escaped divine notice, its existence eventually became visible to beings in the Divine Realm.
- Poseidon and the Asura God did not initially detect the Screen when it appeared. 69
- The Asura God examined the memories of a fallen individual from Slaughter City to determine that the Screen displayed another space-time. 69
- Divine beings can therefore investigate the Screen indirectly and may perceive or respond to events occurring within its broadcast. 69 79 83
Story Role / Major Effects
- Exposure of Spirit Hall's past — The broadcast revives Bibi Dong's trauma by showing Qian Xunji alive in the alternate timeline and exposing his desires toward her. 2 5
- Cultivation archive — Powerful observers treat Lu Xuan's teachings as priceless public lessons. Dai Zhen establishes the Heavenwatch Bureau to record every detail of the broadcasts, while Sword Douluo unilaterally recognizes Lu Xuan as his master after studying his swordsmanship. 20 26
- Political destabilization — Revealing the Icefire Yin Yang Well triggers Spirit Hall's blockade of Sunset Forest and draws the continent's major factions into conflict over immortal herbs. 13 17 18
- Public judgment — The Screen turns private misconduct into continent-wide scandal, particularly through its broadcasts of Yu Xiaogang's behavior and his connection to Liu Erlong. 29 33 36
- Strategic panic among soul beasts — Lu Xuan's actions and statements frighten sea soul beasts and later alarm Xiao Wu and the Star Dou Great Forest's hundred-thousand-year soul beasts. 15 48
- Recruitment and factional competition — Lu Xuan’s recruitment of Ye Qingshui, Liu Erlong, and Ah Yin inspires envy, political maneuvering, and attempts by Spirit Hall and other factions to secure or control related talents. 36 42 45 64

- Divine destabilization — Lu Xuan’s irreverence toward the Sea God is broadcast to the continent and attracts the attention of Poseidon and the Asura God. The Screen turns a divine confrontation into a public spectacle spanning two space-times. 69 79 83

- Exposure of imperial corruption — The Screen reveals the Red Wolf Guard’s massacre of civilians and forces Heaven Dou authorities, Spirit Hall, and Star Luo to respond. 73
- Cross-timeline consequences — Events shown through the Screen provoke direct reactions from figures in the original timeline. Tang Hao attempts to recover a soul bone connected to the alternate Ah Yin and contemplates entering the Screen’s world, while Tang San reacts with jealousy to Ah Yin’s growth. 90
- Escalation of the sea-beast conflict — Lu Xuan’s repeated hunting of sea soul beasts leads the ocean’s strongest creatures to organize a revenge operation, turning the Screen’s broadcast into the stage for a large-scale Ferocious Beast battle. 92 96 98
