Induction in Potions Class

With Hagrid in a good mood, Katelyle enjoyed a fine breakfast with Hagrid in the Great Hall.

Afterward, Hagrid left, while Katelyle headed down to the dungeons.

This was where Severus Snape held his classes, and his office was here as well.

Speaking of Snape, one had to mention his tragic childhood: an unhappy family, warped values, no friends, and hardship in every aspect of life.

After finally making it to Hogwarts, he was sorted into Slytherin and looked down upon for not being pure-blooded. Though he possessed great talent, he was never properly valued.

At the same time, he deeply loved Lily, but because of Dark Magic and his own inferiority, he never dared confess. In the end, he broke with Lily.

Lily Evans was Harry Potter's mother and Snape's lifelong love. Yet fate was not on his side, and he could only watch the woman he loved be with James Potter and give birth to Harry Potter.

Then Voldemort learned of a prophecy and sought to kill Harry Potter. In the end, Lily Evans died at Voldemort's hands.

This left Snape deeply grief-stricken and gave him a certain prejudice against Harry himself.

Still, Snape was quite an interesting person.

He was willing to endure everyone's misunderstanding while silently protecting Harry Potter from the shadows.

So, from a woman's perspective, a Snape like this might have been the truest love, someone very worth having.

"Kate, if you hadn't come soon, I would have gone looking for you."

In Snape's office, Snape smiled when he saw Katelyle enter.

Seeing the smile on Snape's face, Katelyle smiled faintly and said, "Snape, you seem very eager."

Snape, who was usually unsmiling, somewhat cold, and unfathomable, was actually smiling. That was a rare sight.

After all, in the Harry Potter setting, he was a devoted, gloomy, cold, sharp-tongued, unfathomable man, and one obsessively persistent in love.

"Of course. I only want to maximize the benefits of my limited time."

"For example, discussing Potions with you during class and making the children more interested in Potions."

Katelyle laughed heartily at that, then said, "Let's go. I think they can hardly wait to get started."

Snape nodded, and the two headed for the classroom.

In the vast classroom, Harry Potter and Ron Weasley sat together, with Hermione Granger behind them.

"Harry, it's Potions again. I seriously suspect you offended Snape somehow. He seems to be targeting you."

"And by extension, he's targeting me too."

Ron set his textbook on the desk and complained to Harry in a low voice.

Harry fell silent for a moment before saying, "I don't know either. Maybe."

Harry remembered the pain from the lightning-shaped scar on his forehead when he had met Snape's gaze in the Great Hall on the first day of school.

Then, during his first Potions class with Snape, Snape had targeted him even more. Harry was also rather puzzled by Snape.

"But you have to admit that Snape is incredibly skilled at Potions. Right now, we need to pay attention in class instead of complaining here," Hermione reminded them after overhearing their conversation.

On the other side, Malfoy watched Harry and the other two whispering among themselves. He frowned slightly, then smiled.

He wanted to befriend Harry Potter, but Harry Potter did not know what was good for him.

He acknowledged Harry Potter's parents as powerful wizards.

But Harry Potter was wasting himself. Malfoy wanted to bring Harry Potter to his side.

Harry Potter should possess the ambition bestowed by Slytherin. That was Harry Potter's chance to become stronger.

Only by joining forces with other strong people could he dominate the wizarding world.

The classroom door opened.

Snape walked in, followed by Katelyle.

Katelyle's appearance immediately drew everyone's attention.

The Elemental Magic Katelyle had displayed fascinated them all.

However, because the classroom for Elemental Magic Studies had not yet been completed, they had gone a week since the start of term without taking an Elemental Magic Studies class.

Fortunately, their day-and-night anticipation had spurred the Dwarves to speed up construction. In a few more days, they would be able to attend Elemental Magic classes.

Yet what delighted them even more was Katelyle's appearance in their classroom.

Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger all looked at Katelyle with excitement and anticipation.

Just last night, Katelyle had reminded them about something. They had not expected Katelyle to appear in their classroom the very next day.

"This is Professor Kate. I believe everyone is already familiar with him."

Standing before the podium, Snape looked at the first-year students and their eager, delighted expressions, his own face calm as he spoke.

"I invited Professor Kate here today because he is also a Potions master, an exceptionally skilled one with remarkable research."

"Today, we will teach you a different kind of Potions through discussion."

"Now, let us welcome Professor Kate to tell everyone about a different kind of Potions."

Under everyone's gaze, Katelyle stepped up to the podium and smiled. "Good morning, students."

Without thinking, Katelyle had spoken the phrase teachers in his previous life would always say before class began.

Now that he had said it himself, he found it strangely amusing.

Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Malfoy, and the other children were all stunned.

After all, this was a magic academy, not the outside world, so they found it somewhat unfamiliar.

Fortunately, Hermione was a clever and kind girl. She immediately caught on and said with mock seriousness, "Good morning, Professor Kate!"

As Hermione called out, she also poked Harry and Ron.

Harry and Ron came to their senses and said, "Good morning, Professor Kate!"

Then everyone understood and hurriedly said, "Good morning, Professor Kate!"

A smile appeared on Katelyle's face. "You are very gentlemanly and polite. I like students like you. It means you are receiving an excellent education."

"Today is destined to be an interesting class. I hope you are in a pleasant mood and study earnestly."

"Because Professor Snape and I will personally be teaching you Potions."

"Potions is a marvelous subject. During battle, it can rapidly restore your magic power and depleted mental strength."

"It can also heal your body faster than magic and grant you great power."

"What's more, it can make you rich. Potions are extremely expensive these days. If you can learn to brew them skillfully, you will possess enormous wealth."

"What's more, through Potions, you may even obtain immortality."

At this point, Katelyle's gaze swept over Harry and Ron. He smiled meaningfully and said, "Learn it, and it can bring you unexpected rewards."
