During the noon break, which lasted only an hour, Harry and the other three found themselves both exhausted and excited.
And during that hour, they did only one thing: control their magic.
According to Katelyle, mixing a potion required precise control.
Precise control over magic also meant they could cast spells faster and with greater accuracy.
Compared with Harry and the other two, Neville's magical affinity had also been tested: Earth Element energy.
It suited Neville's personality. Though he seemed soft on the outside and strong within, and often forgot things, once he made up his mind, he always persevered to the end. He was remarkably resilient and steady.
After seeing the four of them off, Katelyle glanced to the side as Dumbledore descended from the second floor.
"Professor Katelyle, what do you think of Harry?" Dumbledore asked as he came over to the sofa.
Katelyle smiled. "He is a genius, and he also has an adventurous spirit and a willingness to help others."
"However, his heart is not very peaceful."
Dumbledore nodded and instinctively touched his glasses before saying, "Who do you think was behind what happened last night?"
Katelyle raised a finger. A flame appeared upon it and burned as he said, "I don't know. Perhaps my magic has already threatened certain people."
"I hope tomorrow's Elemental Magic Studies will have a good start."
"Are you reminding me, Professor Katelyle?" Dumbledore chuckled. "Rest assured, those troublesome people will not interfere with the spread of your magic."
"Also, if possible, please take better care of Harry. He is very important."
Katelyle considered it, then said, "All right. For the sake of a genius, I do not mind at all if he makes my Elemental Magic shine in the magical world."
Dumbledore chuckled and left. When he reached the door, he added, "To become an eagle, one must be tempered by wind and rain. I only hope the young eagle grows up quickly."
Katelyle watched Dumbledore's departing figure, stroking his chin as he fell into thought.
According to the plot, what was old Dumbledore scheming this time?
Katelyle could not remember, but he had a feeling that as Harry's trio grew stronger, Dumbledore's schemes would become more difficult.
Three thirty in the afternoon.
It was a clear, pleasant day with a gentle breeze. The lush green grass carried the scent of nature on the wind, making one feel as though one were surrounded by the wilderness.
Harry, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, and the other Gryffindor students hurried to an open area outside the castle.
They would be having their first flying lesson there.
When Harry and the others arrived, the Slytherin students were already waiting, along with dozens of flying brooms arranged neatly on the ground.
However, Harry still remembered Ron's brothers, Fred and George, complaining about the school brooms. They were like drunks—if they flew too high, they would wobble around, and you never knew when they might veer off course.
"Red-haired Weasley, your nightmare is about to begin. Are you ready to welcome it?" Malfoy said mockingly as he looked at the approaching trio, then turned his gaze to Ron.
Ron curled his lip. "What a disgusting face!"
"But, Malfoy, I'll show you how powerful a flying knight can be."
Anyone could talk big.
Whose nightmare it would be was still unknown.
Hearing Ron's words, Malfoy burst out laughing. Pointing at Ron, he said, "Wow, wow, everyone listen to this! He says he's a flying knight. Did I hear that right? Looking at him, calling him a flying pig would be giving him too much credit."
The Slytherin students heard Malfoy's words and looked at Ron's slightly chubby figure, then broke into laughter. The image did seem rather fitting.
Malfoy's humiliation made Ron's face turn pale, and he glared at Malfoy in fury.
Harry stepped forward and stood in front of Ron. Staring at Malfoy, he said in a low voice, "Malfoy, you are insulting my friend. You must apologize, or I will not let this go."
After hearing Harry, Malfoy walked up to him and looked down at him imposingly. "You should clearly understand your identity and status. I have always wanted you in Slytherin, Harry."
At that, Malfoy paused. He glanced at Hermione, then continued to Harry, "If you still cannot recognize your situation, I would not mind letting you experience what it feels like to have a flying broom smack your backside during flying class."
With that, Malfoy turned and walked away.
Seeing that Malfoy not only refused to apologize but even threatened him, Harry grew angry. Amid everyone's shocked cries, he drew his wand, pointed it at Malfoy, and said in a low voice, "Malfoy, you must apologize."
Malfoy stopped walking. From everyone else's reactions, he sensed that something was wrong.
He turned around and saw Harry pointing a wand at him. He immediately staggered back several steps in fright, his face turning deathly pale.
"Harry!" Ron grabbed Harry's hand and cried out anxiously.
Ron was deeply moved that Harry was willing to stand up for him and had even drawn his wand to force Malfoy to apologize.
But if Harry used magic to hurt Malfoy now, Harry would face the danger of being expelled from Hogwarts.
"Harry, you can't do this. You'll be expelled!" Hermione cried out nervously, worried for Harry as well.
The Gryffindor first-years sensed that something was wrong, but after some hesitation, Neville stepped up beside Ron and glared fiercely and angrily at Malfoy, showing his support for Harry.
Dean Thomas and Simon Finnigan, Harry's roommates, exchanged a look before stepping forward as well, standing in line with Harry.
They were dormmates and had gotten along very well with Ron and Harry.
During classes, Severus Snape, as Slytherin's head of house, had always been very unfriendly toward Gryffindor, so the Gryffindor students had often been mocked by the Slytherin snakes.
Thus, under Harry's forceful lead, the Gryffindor students seemed to have found someone to rally behind. They all stepped forward, forming a semicircle around Harry and Malfoy.
At this point, the Slytherin snakes hesitated instead, and the Gryffindor students suddenly found their courage rising tremendously.
