Won't Be Reluctant

Early in the morning, the sun slowly rose, and the spacious, bright bedroom was utterly quiet.

A delicate-looking young man slept on the large bed.

His cherry-red lips were lightly pursed, his nose bridge high, and his curled lashes fluttered faintly. He looked like an exquisite porcelain doll, too precious to wake and disturb from his peaceful sleep.

Yet when sunlight streamed in, the delicate young man woke on his own.

Unlike his refined and gentle appearance, his opened eyes were utterly indifferent, enough to send a chill down one's spine. The exquisite porcelain doll instantly became an aloof ice beauty.

His narrow eyes blinked, carrying a hint of confusion.

The ice beauty gathered himself, then suddenly hugged his blanket tight, rolled over, closed his eyes, and planned to sleep a little longer.

But after only three seconds with his eyes closed, he abruptly opened them again.

He seemed to have returned to the country.

A jade-smooth arm slowly emerged from the blanket, and slender fingers picked up the phone from the bedside table.

It was already seven.

He did not really want to get out of bed, but he also did not want to miss breakfast with his family.

His family kept fairly regular meal times. After thinking it over, Wen Chengze still got out of bed.

After washing up and changing into loungewear, Wen Chengze slowly made his way downstairs.

The Wen Household at the dining table froze. They had worried that Xiao Ze would not be able to adjust to the time difference after just returning, so they had deliberately not called him for breakfast and wanted him to rest a while longer. They had not expected Xiao Ze to come downstairs on his own.

"Xiao Ze, did you sleep well last night? If you're tired, sleep a little more. We'll have the kitchen save some food for you. Don't let the jet lag make you feel unwell later," Mother Wen said worriedly.

Wen Chengze shook his head. "Mom, I'm fine. I happened to wake up, and I'm a little hungry."

"Hungry? Then hurry and eat. Your dad and brother have to go to the company today, so Mommy can take you shopping for some clothes and things. How does that sound?"

As she said this, Mother Wen felt a little worried. She was afraid Wen Chengze would not want to go, since shopping meant running into quite a few people.

"Okay."

She had not expected her youngest son to agree so readily. A glimmer of hope flashed through Mother Wen's eyes. Maybe Xiao Ze had really gotten better!

The thought made Mother Wen feel rather delighted.

"You're going shopping? Then take this card." Wen Chenglin pushed a card in front of Wen Chengze.

"No need, Brother. I have money."

Wen Chenglin frowned. "You're only twenty. What money could you have? Take it when I tell you to. Buy more things. Don't shortchange yourself."

Wen Chengze looked helplessly at his eldest brother's tightly furrowed brows.

Ever since he was little, his father, mother, and brother had stuffed him with countless amounts of money. Yet they had covered all his food, clothing, and daily expenses, leaving him nowhere to spend it. No matter how he looked at it, he did not seem like someone short on money who would mistreat himself.

"Xiao Ze, if your brother gives it to you, take it. Your eldest brother makes no ordinary amount of money now. Spend more while you don't have a sister-in-law yet, so you won't be reluctant to later," Mother Wen teased from the side.

Wen Chenglin said firmly, "I won't be reluctant."

In the end, Wen Chengze accepted the card. His eldest brother looked as though he would not go to work today if Wen Chengze refused to take it.

After breakfast, Mother Wen and Wen Chengze set off for the mall.

Mother Wen watched the driver and seemed lost in thought.

"Xiao Ze, can you drive?"

"Yes."

"Then I'll have your eldest brother buy you a car later. It'll be more convenient for you to go wherever you want."

Although the family had a driver, most boys probably still preferred driving themselves.

Wen Chengze had been away from home for so long that Mother Wen wished she could provide him with everything.

Not long after the two entered the mall, they had already bought quite a few large and small bags of things. Left with no choice, they had the driver take some of them home first.

Mother and son continued shopping.
