In the early morning, the sun rose slowly, and the spacious, bright bedroom was very quiet.
A delicate-looking young man slept on the large bed.
His cherry-red lips were lightly pursed, his nose high and straight, his curled lashes fluttering slightly. He looked like an exquisite porcelain doll, too precious to wake and disturb from his peaceful sleep.
But when sunlight streamed in, the delicate young man woke on his own.
In stark contrast to his refined, gentle appearance, his opened eyes were filled with indifference, chilling anyone who saw them. The exquisite porcelain doll instantly became an untouchable icy beauty.
His narrow eyes blinked, carrying a trace of confusion.
The icy beauty gathered himself, then suddenly hugged his blanket tightly, rolled over, and closed his eyes, intending to sleep a little longer.
But only three seconds after closing his eyes, he abruptly opened them again.
It seemed he had returned home.
An arm as smooth as jade slowly emerged from beneath the blanket, and his slender fingers picked up the phone from the bedside table.
It was already seven o'clock.
He did not particularly want to get out of bed, but he also did not want to miss breakfast with his family.
His family kept fairly regular meal times. After thinking it over, Wen Chengze still got out of bed.
After washing up and changing into casual clothes, Wen Chengze slowly went downstairs.
The Wen Household froze at the dining table. They had worried that Xiao Ze would struggle with jet lag after just returning, so they had deliberately not called him down for breakfast, wanting him to rest longer. They had not expected him to come downstairs himself.
"Xiao Ze, did you sleep well last night? If you're tired, go sleep some more. We'll have the kitchen save you some food. Don't let the jet lag make you feel unwell later," Mother Wen said worriedly.
Wen Chengze shook his head. "Mom, I'm fine. I happened to wake up, and I'm a little hungry."
"Hungry? Then come eat quickly. Your father and brother have to go to the company today. Your mom can take you shopping for some clothes and things today, all right?"
As she said this, Mother Wen felt somewhat worried. She was afraid Wen Chengze would not want to go, since shopping meant encountering quite a few people.
"Okay."
She had not expected her younger son to agree so readily. A flash of brightness passed through Mother Wen's eyes. Perhaps Xiao Ze really had gotten better!
The thought made Mother Wen rather happy.
"You're going shopping? Then take this card." Wen Chenglin pushed a card in front of Wen Chengze.
"No need, Brother. I have money."
Wen Chenglin frowned. "You're only twenty. What money could you possibly have? Take it when I tell you to. Buy more things. Don't shortchange yourself."
Wen Chengze looked at his elder brother's tightly furrowed brow with helplessness.
Ever since he was young, his father, mother, and brother had given him countless amounts of money. Yet they covered all his food, clothing, and daily expenses, leaving him nowhere to spend it. No matter how he looked at it, he did not seem like someone short on money who would mistreat himself.
"Xiao Ze, if your brother gives it to you, just take it. Your eldest brother earns an extraordinary amount now. Spend more while you don't have a sister-in-law yet, so he won't be reluctant to spend on you later," Mother Wen teased from the side.
Wen Chenglin stated firmly, "I won't be reluctant."
In the end, Wen Chengze accepted the card. His elder brother looked as though he would refuse to go to work today if Wen Chengze did not take it.
After breakfast, Mother Wen and Wen Chengze set off for the mall.
Mother Wen looked thoughtful as she watched the driver.
"Xiao Ze, can you drive?"
"Yes."
"Then have your eldest brother buy you a car later. It'll be more convenient for you to go wherever you want."
Although the Household had a driver, most boys probably still preferred driving themselves.
Wen Chengze had been away from home for so long that Mother Wen wished she could provide him with everything.
Not long after the two entered the mall, they had already bought quite a few bags of things. With no other choice, they had the driver take some of them home first.
Mother and son continued shopping.
