Background / History

Wen Chenglin is the elder son of the Wen Household and Wen Chengze's older brother. After Chengze returns from abroad, Chenglin helps ease their mother's emotions and supports his brother without pressing him to remain home permanently. He tells Chengze that the family can still rely on him if Chengze wishes to leave, but accepts Chengze's decision to share the family's burdens. 2 3

Having joined the family company, Chenglin helps the Wen Household attain its current standing among Haicheng's prominent families. He and Father Wen are drawn into the Zhong Household's succession crisis, but favor keeping the family away from the core of the conflict. 4 9 10
