Qian retrieved the Kusanagi Sword, killed Kakuzu, and returned to the Land of Waves as Kirigakure attacked the Leaf’s positions. After leading the defense at No. 3 Sentry Tower and forcing Terumi Mei to retreat, he struck the main battle’s flank and faced Kaguya Kotaro.

• Qian reported the survivors’ ambush to Nara Akimitsu, who suspected Danzo and Root, while Sarutobi Hiruzen confronted Danzo over the breached defensive line and ordered him not to act alone again.
• Qian trained at the Forward Base, advanced his Mystical Palm Technique and swordsmanship, and used Human Authority to raise his Physical Constitution from 15 to 16.
• Qian traveled to the Land of Artisans, killed Takumi Village’s leader, and took his Kusanagi Sword before discovering that Kakuzu had been hired to capture the leader alive.
• Qian defeated Kakuzu with Wind Style: Rasenshuriken and a final strike against his last mask, then returned toward the Land of Waves as four Kirigakure warships approached the Leaf’s Forward Base.
• Qian reached No. 3 Sentry Tower during the attack, fought Terumi Mei, Ao, and Qing, and used his Illusion Sword Technique and ninjutsu to help drive the Mist Ninja into retreat.
• Qian reorganized the wounded Leaf survivors and evaded Terumi Mei’s interception on the way to the main battlefield, where Konoha was falling behind.
• Qian led his unit into the Mist Ninja’s flank, freed Leaf shinobi, and killed a Kirigakure Special Jonin before Kaguya Kotaro confronted him with Bone Spikes.

Qian killed Kaguya Kotaro, held off Mist shinobi on the eastern front, and helped treat Konoha’s wounded before leading a force to reinforce the Northern Defense Line. There he fought Snow Wind and Kisame Hoshigaki, but Kisame escaped as the Mist forces retreated.

• Qian killed Kaguya Kotaro with Wind Style: Rasenshuriken and cut his throat, then rushed to support the East Defense Line.
• Qian held off Terumi Mei, Ao, Kushimaru Kuriarare, and other Mist shinobi until Kirigakure withdrew, then helped treat wounded Leaf ninjas at the Forward Base.
• Qian led 100 Leaf ninja by ship to the Northern Defense Line, where he dispersed Kirigakure’s mist and exposed Mist ninja attacking from beneath the ships.
• Qian located Snow Wind’s hidden warship and fought him across the sea, escaping his Ice Release prison with Wind Style: Rasenshuriken.
• Qian destroyed Snow Wind’s Ice Crystal Giant Dragon and wounded him, but Kisame Hoshigaki’s massive wave sank the ships and trapped the opposing forces on the battlefield.
• Qian fought Kisame through a series of water-based attacks, but his attempt to capture Kisame ended with Qian trapped in a Water Prison and Snow Wind joining the ambush.
• Qian fought Kisame and Snow Wind for fifteen minutes, then pursued Kisame after Snow Wind withdrew, but Kisame escaped on a shark after using Water Release: Exploding Water Colliding Wave.

Qian reinforced Eagle Beak Cliff and led the defense against a major Kirigakure attack, using his newly developed Wind Style: Rasenshuriken to turn the battle. After awakening his Mangekyō Sharingan and Susanoo, he learned that Might Duy’s feat had halted Kirigakure’s offensive, while his training toward Flight Ninjutsu continued.

• Qian received orders to reinforce Eagle Beak Cliff, took command of the stronghold, and trained while Kirigakure scouts probed the defensive line.
• Qian perfected Wind Style: Wind Blade, then rushed to Uchiha Tekka’s patrol when Snow Wind and Kirigakure warships attacked it.
• Qian killed several Mist Ninja and captured one, then used Genjutsu: Sharingan to uncover Kirigakure’s plan as Konoha forces assembled at Eagle Beak Cliff.
• Qian charged the arriving Mist Ninja fleet with Wind Release: Great Breakthrough, but Snow Wind and the Mist Village jonin wounded him and forced the Leaf shinobi to retreat.
• Qian escaped a sealing barrier with Ame no Minaka, killed the auditory-genjutsu jonin Minaguchi Hideo, and fought until Kirigakure sounded its retreat horn.
• Qian advanced Wind Style: Rasenshuriken and crossed the Sharingan evolution threshold, awakening Mangekyō Sharingan and manifesting Susanoo’s first stage.
• Qian learned that Might Duy had killed five of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen, halting Kirigakure’s offensive, and resumed training toward Flight Ninjutsu.

Qian used his new flight technique to disrupt Kirigakure’s assault, then scouted its captured outposts and discovered a fleet carrying ballistas. As he trained and strengthened his abilities, Ao prepared an ambush at Flying Fish Town.

• Qian perfected his Illusion Sword Technique, developed Wind Release: Wind Wings, and began research into the Shadow Sword Technique and Shuriken Shadow Clone Technique.
• Kirigakure launched a surprise attack on Eagle Beak Cliff, and Qian used Wind Wings to strike its forces and help Konoha’s defenders hold their ground.
• Qian fought Terumi Mei and other Kirigakure leaders across the battlefield, then let the Mist forces withdraw after they received orders to retreat.
• Qian treated the surviving Leaf ninja and traveled to Black Stone Outpost, where Uchiha Yashiro gave him Earth Release materials and Uchiha Shisui urged him to put the village first.
• Qian scouted Flying Fish Town Outpost and discovered twenty-one concealed ballistas, then reported his findings and trained while preparing to investigate Kirigakure reinforcements.
• Qian found four Kirigakure warships, captured a Chunin, extracted information about the reinforcements, and killed him before returning to Black Stone Outpost.
• Qian used Human Authority to raise his Physical Constitution and spent chakra improving Wind Release: Wind Wings, Telepathy Technique, and Shadow Clone Technique while continuing his training.
• Qian sent ten shadow clones to train at Reef Beach while watching Flying Fish Town, where Ao’s forces revealed themselves after knocking away Qian’s explosive-tagged kunai.
