Background / History

Su Yan died suddenly from overwork in his previous life and transmigrated to Douluo Continent. In his new life, he was raised by an old man until the age of six, awakened the Spatial Martial Soul, and remained unaffiliated with any faction. 8 49

At age seven, Su Yan encountered Qian Renxue in a forest during a rainstorm while she mourned her father. Though his initial attempt at comforting her was blunt, he sheltered with her in a cave, shared food, and formed the first bond that would shape both of their lives. Before leaving, Qian Renxue told him she would only consider marrying a man capable of defeating Qian Daoliu; Su Yan took the challenge as motivation to grow stronger. 49

By the beginning of the story, Su Yan and Qian Renxue had a daughter, Su Xiaomo. Qian Renxue left to continue the Usurpation Plan in Heaven Dou, leading to a fierce argument; Su Yan lived outside Heaven Dou City with Xiao Mo while intending to intervene if Qian Renxue’s plan failed. 1

Protection of Su Xiaomo

After the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect bullied Xiao Mo and injured Big Bear, Su Yan severely injured Ning Fengzhi and Chen Xin. He demanded one billion Gold Soul Coins, Distracting Control, and three ten-thousand-year Spirit Bones as compensation, while warning the sect never to touch his daughter again. 2

Rise in Heaven Dou

Su Yan made his name at the Heaven Dou Soul Arena by challenging all fighters at once for 100 million Gold Soul Coins and revealing his Rank-99 status. He then accompanied Qian Renxue to obtain a 100,000-year seventh spirit ring from the Titan Giant Ape. 9

He later entered the Heaven Dou Imperial Palace with Qian Renxue, where Emperor Xue Ye appointed him Imperial Preceptor and granted him the title of prince. 12

Acceptance by the Qian Family

When summoned to Consecration Hall, Su Yan endured the combined Ninth Soul Skills of the seven consecrators to prove he could protect Qian Renxue and Xiao Mo. Though he survived the test, the elders still punished him afterward. 10 11

Su Yan supported Qian Renxue’s advancement through powerful spirit rings and the Fire Dragon King’s Essence, protected Xiao Mo against Xiong Jun, and eradicated the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Martial Soul after the sect’s connection to Xiao Mo’s bullying. 18 22 26

God Realm Expedition

Following Qian Lingdi’s birth, Su Yan departed for the God Realm to prepare for divine positions and retaliate against those responsible for harming Qian Renxue’s Angel Clan inheritance. He repaired a spatial tear, learned of Qian Yuhan’s regrets, exposed Poseidon’s actions, and defeated him. 51 52

On his return, Su Yan stripped eight gods of their godhood, imprisoned Poseidon and Shura, and established the Formless Senluo Prison before leaving with Qian Renxue to travel. 54
