Background / History

Odin exiled Thor to Earth after his arrogance and recklessness threatened war. His divine power was stripped away, while Mjolnir was sent separately to New Mexico under an enchantment requiring worthiness to wield it 31.

On Earth, Thor struggled with ordinary injuries, unfamiliar technology, and Midgardian customs. Jane Foster, Erik Selvig, and Darcy Lewis sheltered him after he was struck by their vehicle; Jane later drove him to Mjolnir after he learned of the hammer's arrival 34 35 36.
