Mortal Body 258–261 Frigga created Hela a temporary body from Moonlight Grass and life energy. Hela lost access to her divine power and experienced ordinary human sensations, including a heartbeat, fatigue, heat, and stomach discomfort. 258 261
Restored Death Goddess Form 308 Odin’s seal was released, allowing Hela’s divine power to return. Her body transformed into black armor with a horned headdress, and she regained the Night-Sky Sword. 308
Asgardian Earth-Origin Amplification 317 While fighting in Asgard, Hela absorbed Death Divine Power from the black stone and underground earth veins. Her injuries regenerated rapidly, her strength doubled, and the realm supplied her with seemingly inexhaustible energy. 317
Domain-Severed Defeat 318–319 Chen Xiao’s White Lightning domain cut Hela off from Asgard’s leyline and Earth Origin. Without that power source, her weapons destabilized, her armor failed, and she was forced to admit defeat. 318 319

Background / History

Hela was imprisoned by Odin in the Underworld after serving as a conquering war goddess and helping expand Asgard’s territory across the Nine Realms. Odin also buried her Berserker Legion and Fenrir beneath the Golden Palace, an act Hela regarded as the abandonment of loyal comrades and the destruction of her legacy. 145 313

For thousands of years, Hela remained in Helheim, waiting for Odin to die so she could reclaim what she believed belonged to her. Chen Xiao first encountered her there and survived her attacks before restraining her with a Thunder Net. 145 Their later sparring sessions helped Chen Xiao refine his understanding of higher-level power, while Hela gradually recognized his strength. 147 150

Frigga secretly cared for Hela and eventually created a temporary human body for her from Moonlight Grass. With Chen Xiao’s assistance, Hela left the Underworld and experienced Midgard for the first time. She initially found human customs strange and irritating, but gradually became curious about sunlight, food, games, and ordinary mortal life. 258 261

Hela’s fragile peace ended when Odin appeared before her. His presence triggered the resentment and trauma created by her imprisonment, causing her to attack him violently. Frigga’s intervention stopped the confrontation, after which Hela’s divine power was restored. 305 307 308

After recovering her power, Hela returned to Asgard with Chen Xiao. She visited the treasury, entered the Golden Palace, and confronted the remains of the history Odin had rewritten. She also sought the buried Berserker Legion and Fenrir, whom she considered her own forces. 310 313 314

Chen Xiao revived the legion and Fenrir by combining lightning with the Eternal Flame’s Resurrection Rule. The process strengthened the army with lightning-based abilities, but Fenrir and the legion initially responded more strongly to Chen Xiao’s power than to Hela’s authority. Hela attacked Chen Xiao over what she saw as an attempt to take her army and royal power. 315 316

Chen Xiao ultimately defeated Hela after isolating her from Asgard’s leyline energy with his White Lightning domain. Once she recognized that resistance was futile, Hela admitted defeat. Chen Xiao then assigned the revived Berserker Legion to her command, allowing her to resume her role as their commander while retaining ultimate control over the army’s power. 318 319

Hela later joined Chen Xiao’s expedition into Hell. She led the Berserker Legion and Fenrir in battles against demon armies, destroyed Demon City’s defenses, and sought revenge for former subordinates who had been tortured or imprisoned by Hell. 323 343

Appearance

Hela has long black hair and dark green eyes. In her restored divine state, she wears black Death Goddess Armor, a horned or antlered headdress, and carries a Night-Sky Sword. Her mortal body, created by Frigga, appeared as an ordinary woman capable of feeling sunlight, fatigue, pain, and other human sensations. 145 258 261 308

Distinguishing features:

  • Dark green pupils associated with her Death Divine Power. 145
  • Long black hair that may spread across the ground like dead vines in the Underworld. 147
  • Black armor with sharp shoulder and wrist barbs. 308
  • A horned or antler-like headdress in her Death Goddess Form. 308 316
  • A Night-Sky Sword formed from condensed Death Divine Power. 145 308
  • A cold, imposing presence that can overwhelm or paralyze ordinary Asgardian guards. 310

Personality

Hela is domineering, impatient, and accustomed to solving problems through direct violence. Her combat style is practical rather than theatrical, relying on precise attacks aimed at vital points. She has little tolerance for delay, weakness, or elaborate explanations. 145 148 323 324

Her pride is closely tied to her identity as a conqueror and commander. She reacts violently when Chen Xiao’s resurrection causes the Berserker Legion or Fenrir to show loyalty toward him, interpreting the behavior as an assault on her royal authority. 315 316

Despite her cold exterior, Hela retains strong loyalty toward her former soldiers. She becomes enraged when she discovers that a former commander has been tortured in Hell and attempts to save the remnant soul. She also shows pride when Einar formally renews his oath to her. 335 338 339

Hela is capable of adapting when confronted with overwhelming strength. After Chen Xiao defeats her, she abandons futile resistance, acknowledges his superiority, and accepts command of the revived legion. 319
