New York Sanctum

At this moment, Chen Xu had already returned to the New York Sanctum. He immersed himself in the library, reading, studying, and researching more powerful magic, completely unaware of everything he had caused. Every day, he either inspected the Dark Dimension or joined the other Temple Mages in reinforcing the magical seals within the New York Sanctum.

One evening, Chen Xu and the other Temple Mages were strengthening the New York Sanctum's magical seals when dimensional space trembled. A terrifying force tore apart Earth's outer barrier. Immediately afterward, a meteor streaked across the sky, seemingly ripping the entire black sky in half. The barriers in Earth's surrounding space were meant to ward off creatures from outer dimensions, yet now one had been torn open by a terrifying force. Mages from the New York Sanctum and the other three sanctums all sensed the disturbance in Earth's outer barrier and thought another powerful enemy had invaded Earth.

Ancient One directly sent a message to the mages of every sanctum, informing them that the force had come from Asgard and was not an enemy. There was no need for everyone to panic; they should simply return to their own tasks.

Chen Xu's system spoke up at that moment. "Ding, please proceed to Odin's Vault and check in as soon as possible. This mission does not have to be completed. Please act within your capabilities."

Chen Xu was stunned. Leaving aside how he was supposed to get to Asgard, he was expected to enter Odin, the All-Father's vault directly? Who did they think Odin was? Not to mention that it was where he kept his treasures—how could he possibly let someone enter as they pleased?

Chen Xu watched the meteor streak across the sky, emitting a dazzling white light, and memorized its approximate direction.

Chen Xu also volunteered to go see what had happened.

No one found Chen Xu's request strange or suspicious.

"Then we'll have to trouble you."

Chen Xu smiled optimistically.

"Not at all. For Earth's safety, doing my part and contributing my strength is the responsibility every Earthling should bear. How could I be tired?"

Even Chen Xu felt ashamed of what he had just said.

Shaking his head and not dwelling on it further, Chen Xu put on his ring, opened a portal, and left.

The small town, which usually had few people, drew a great deal of attention because of Mjolnir's fall. It attracted many visitors who came to take a look. The once-quiet little village instantly became lively, and spending in the area soared.

Naturally, they wanted to see what had fallen from the sky—whether it was a meteor or something else.

It also caught the attention of some astronomers.

Chen Xu blended into the crowd and walked up to Mjolnir. He tried pulling it a few times, not because he truly wanted to lift it, but because he wanted to see what the legendary Mjolnir was like.

When Chen Xu saw that Mjolnir did not react at all, he gave up and went to wait in the restaurant nearby, waiting for Thor to appear.

"Jane, you don't know where he went? That lunatic."

Chen Xu froze and immediately turned toward the voice. He saw a blonde, delicate-featured Western beauty eating there and discussing something with a slightly mischievous girl wearing a brown hat.

"That's...?"

"No way, what a coincidence. It was bad enough that I didn't run into Thor, but I ran into his girl instead. It was the same at Stark Tower last time—I didn't meet Iron Man, but I met his future wife instead. What the hell is this? Fine, maybe I have good luck with women, but why are all these women already taken? Is this a joke?"

Chen Xu did not go over to greet them. Instead, he ate at his own table. Before long, S.H.I.E.L.D. personnel arrived.

An agent patrolled the area, seemingly looking for a restaurant to grab something to eat. He happened to enter the restaurant where Chen Xu was sitting.

"Waiter, bring me a steak."

The agent looked around. The instant he saw Chen Xu, he froze completely and did not move. Chen Xu noticed him as well. This agent was Phil Coulson, one of Nick Fury's men.

That was right, he recognized Chen Xu. However, Chen Xu did not recognize him. Although Chen Xu was a transmigrator, after spending so long in Marvel, he had discovered that movies and reality were vastly different, so naturally he failed to recognize him. But Agent Phil Coulson was not nearly as calm. Still, relying on his years of experience as an agent, he desperately maintained his composure. After Agent Phil Coulson finished the steak on his plate, he still could not resist going over to greet him.

Agent Phil Coulson used the incident as an opening for conversation. Chen Xu was also taken aback. He looked Agent Phil Coulson over and quickly recognized him, but he did not expose him. Instead, he deliberately began making idle conversation with him.
