Background / History
Odin cast Thor down to Earth, sealed his divine power, and made him unable to lift Mjolnir as a test of his worthiness to rule Asgard. S.H.I.E.L.D. detained and interrogated him after he tried to recover the hammer, but he refused to answer their questions. Loki then deceived him into believing Odin had died and declared him unfit to be king, leaving Thor isolated and devastated 21.
Stripped of his former arrogance, Thor began living as an ordinary man on Earth. He stopped acting violently at every provocation, learned to cook, and found support in Sif and the Warriors Three when they came to find him 22.
When Loki sent the Destroyer to kill him, Thor chose to sacrifice himself to protect Jane Foster and the others. This selflessness restored his divine power and returned Mjolnir to him; he then destroyed the Destroyer with a lightning-charged storm 23 24.
Appearance
Thor is a burly, blond Asgardian man. After regaining his power, he returns to his warrior's appearance.
- Blond hair
- Silver armor
- Red cape
- Carries Mjolnir, his hammer 24
Personality
Thor initially possesses the pride and impulsiveness of an Asgardian prince, believing little can stand in his way. His exile on Earth humbles him: he accepts help from Chen Xu, shows concern for those around him, and becomes more willing to place others' safety ahead of his own 22 24.
He remains battle-hungry and eager to test himself against stronger opponents. After witnessing Chen Xu's strength, he repeatedly spars with him and pursues training to unlock the lightning power dormant within himself 45 48.
Thor is deeply protective of Earth despite his Asgardian origin. Loki's plans to conquer Earth and endanger the Nine Realms repeatedly draw Thor into action alongside Chen Xu and the Avengers 37 42 43.

- Survived the Destroyer's energy blast while powerless, though he was left near death 23.

Destroyer Crisis and Return to Asgard
Loki sends the Destroyer to eliminate Thor. Thor's willingness to die for others restores his power, allowing him to reclaim Mjolnir and destroy the armor. He then accepts Chen Xu's assistance in returning to Asgard to confront Loki 23 24.
In Asgard, Thor clashes with Loki until Chen Xu uses Chaos Magic to separate them and suppress both brothers' magic. Thor subsequently takes Chen Xu through Odin's Vault and recognizes him as a friend of Asgard 25 26.
Pursuit of Loki
After Odin reveals Chen Xu's victory over Dormammu, Thor's respect for the mage greatly increases. He seeks Chen Xu's help after learning Loki survived and has been causing trouble across numerous star systems, suspecting that Loki ultimately intends to threaten Earth 35 38.
Battle of New York
Thor tries to bring Loki back to Asgard for judgment, but Loki escapes with help from Black Dwarf and controlled agents. Thor and Chen Xu later seek the Ancient One's help, then fight together when Loki opens a wormhole above Stark Tower and releases the Chitauri army 40 43.
