The End (Part 1)

After Liu Xing and the others finalized their plan to escape Ains Castle, the last secret room session also ended. Everyone knew that the final act of this role-playing game had begun.

Liu Xing didn't wait long in his room before Old Wayne entered. "Mr. Liu Xing, the Lord has made preparations. Please follow me to the study on the second floor now."

Liu Xing smiled and nodded, then followed Old Wayne to the study on the second floor. The study lights were already on, and Gary was sitting at the desk.

"Mr. Liu Xing, please have a seat," Gary said very gentlemanly.

Liu Xing smiled and nodded, sitting opposite Gary. After Old Wayne served Liu Xing a cup of coffee, he turned and left the study, closing the door behind him.

Thus, only Liu Xing and Gary were left in the study.

"So, Mr. Liu Xing, could you first tell me why you came to Ains Town this time?" Gary asked with a chuckle.

Liu Xing took a sip of coffee. Although he was initially worried the coffee might be drugged, he quickly reasoned that he was the first person to speak with Gary. If Gary had intended to act against him immediately, it would surely alert Bai He Cheng and the others. Unless Gary was confident he could take all five of them down at once, such an action would be more trouble than it was worth. Therefore, Liu Xing believed Gary wouldn't make a move against him first.

"It's like this. The reason I came to Ains Town is because I'm a fan of Manchester United, so I took advantage of the holiday to watch their match. Then I heard that Ains Town had a castle, and that the owner, Mr. Gary, was willing to open it to the public, so I came," Liu Xing recounted the background story the role-playing game had assigned him.

Gary listened to Liu Xing's account without much reaction, still chuckling. "I see. This might be like that widely spread Chinese poem, 'If I remember correctly, it should be 'destiny brings us together across a thousand miles'?"

Liu Xing smiled and nodded, then flattered Gary, "Mr. Gary, you are truly learned to even know that line of poetry."

Gary chuckled and pointed to the bookshelf beside him. "Not at all. It's just that I'm often bored in the castle and enjoy reading, especially your Chinese classics. I've read them over and over..."

As Gary's gaze fell upon the bookshelf, Liu Xing knew he was in trouble. The scroll of parchment, conspicuously placed on the bookshelf, had already been taken by him!

As expected, Gary's words stopped abruptly, his gaze fixed on the spot where the parchment had been.

Gary's expression darkened. He got up and walked to the location of the parchment, lost in thought.

Just as Liu Xing was contemplating whether he should seize the opportunity to slip away, Gary turned around and said to Liu Xing, "Mr. Liu Xing, please return to your room for now. It seems I have encountered some issues here, and I need to verify some things."

Liu Xing nodded decisively, smiling. "Uh, okay, I'll head back to my room then. If Mr. Gary is still willing to listen to my stories after he's finished with his business, please have Wayne call me."

Gary forced a strained smile. "Thank you for your understanding, Mr. Liu Xing. I'll be going ahead then. Please return to your room, Mr. Liu Xing."

After speaking, Gary hurried out the door. However, Liu Xing noticed that Gary seemed to be heading towards Isabella's room!

Liu Xing immediately stood up, preparing to go to Isabella's room, and was ready to jump out the window if necessary. After all, Liu Xing couldn't be sure if Isabella would tell Gary about his visit to the second floor. If Isabella reported truthfully, Liu Xing felt he would have no choice but to flee.

Thus, Liu Xing walked to Isabella's room door and found it already open. He listened carefully to the sounds inside.

"Since Isabella's door is open, and neither Gary nor Isabella are speaking in hushed tones, your Listen skill automatically succeeds." Liu Xing felt KP004's tone sounded rather bored, and a weight lifted from his heart. This was because when Liu Xing and the others faced danger, KP004's tone would become schadenfreude-filled. This current tone indicated that Liu Xing was not in danger of being exposed.

"Isabella, did anyone come up to the second floor today while I was out?" Gary asked with anger in his voice.

"No, no one came up today except Grandfather Wayne," Isabella replied, her voice filled with confusion.

Just then, the sound of dice hitting the floor echoed. Liu Xing knew that Gary was most likely using Psychology on Isabella.

"Damn it, Isabella, stop lying to me! I already know you're lying now. I'll give you one more chance. Tell me the truth! I know your hearing is excellent, you must know who came to the second floor!" It was clear that Gary's Psychology had succeeded this time, detecting Isabella's lie, so his tone became even more furious.

Just as Liu Xing thought Isabella would tell the truth after being exposed by Gary, Isabella insisted on her previous statement, "I said I don't know, and I don't know. You should leave now, Gary. I don't want to see you right now."

As soon as Isabella said this, silence fell in the room again.

Just as Liu Xing was contemplating whether to go in and see, he heard a loud slap. It was obvious that Gary had hit Isabella.

Liu Xing suddenly felt a surge of adrenaline and rushed into Isabella's room, "Mr. Gary, what are you doing?"

Gary turned around and said angrily to Liu Xing, "Mr. Liu Xing, please don't interfere in our domestic affairs. You should leave now!"

Liu Xing sneered and pointed at Isabella, saying angrily, "Mr. Gary, why are you hitting a child as a man? What did the child do wrong?"

Gary walked up to Liu Xing with an annoyed expression and shoved him hard. Before Liu Xing could steady himself, Gary actually pulled out a handgun from his embrace and pointed it directly at Liu Xing!

Cold sweat instantly broke out on Liu Xing's forehead. After all, the dark muzzle was pointed at him, and the unique metallic sheen also reminded Liu Xing that this handgun was no toy replica.

Gary advanced with the handgun, and Liu Xing could only retreat step by step. Finally, Gary forced Liu Xing out of the room and against the railing on the second floor.
