Background
Liu Xing is a 22-year-old graduate of Rongcheng University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Born into a family that has practiced medicine for three generations and owns three clinics, he refused his father’s offer to join the family business because he wanted broader experience. After clashing with a department director, he resigned and was left unemployed while searching unsuccessfully for hospital work. 1
A longtime Cthulhu Mythos tabletop RPG enthusiast, Liu Xing clicks an advertisement for the Cthulhu Mythos Tabletop RPG Game Hall while passing time at home. He registers under the ID Old Chinese Doctor, a name reflecting his lifelong study of traditional Chinese medicine under his grandfathers. 2
His first Novice Room session establishes his approach to the Game Hall: rather than merely survive, he investigates the mansion’s family-annihilation case, identifies his three companions as ghosts, and completes the side quest for an A-level evaluation. 4 5 6

| Damage Bonus | None |
His high Intelligence, Inspiration, Education, Willpower, and Luck make him effective at gathering information and resisting mental pressure, but his low Constitution, small build, 8 HP, and lack of damage bonus leave him highly vulnerable in direct combat. His high Inspiration is especially dangerous, as it increases his likelihood of encountering abnormal phenomena and suffering forced SAN loss. 6 9 39
Personality
Liu Xing is analytical, cautious, and proactive. He habitually examines inconsistencies in behavior, scenery, and game logic, then turns them into working theories. This allows him to expose the Novice Room ghosts, recognize the Elder Sign wallpaper ruse at Ains Castle, and identify the electric gate opener as the group’s viable escape route. 5 26 27
He is also willing to accept calculated risks when greater rewards are at stake. He insists on pursuing the Novice Room side quest, climbs to Ains Castle’s second floor despite poor Climb skill, and takes the ominous parchment because it may weaken the scenario’s Magician boss. 4 19 20
Despite his self-preserving instincts, Liu Xing prioritizes team survival when practical. He builds his Character Card around healing and SAN recovery, volunteers to negotiate with Gary, and argues that rescuing Minami Kotori would improve the group’s eventual evaluation. 9 28 50
He is susceptible to exceptional beauty. Isabella’s appearance causes him to lower his guard, making him vulnerable to her manipulation during the Ains Castle scenario. 21 37 38
Abilities & Skills
Medical Expertise
Liu Xing was raised in a traditional Chinese medicine family and built his Character Card around being an indispensable team doctor. 2 8 9
- First Aid 83 — Treats injuries during dangerous situations; Liu Xing is pursuing 90 points to obtain the SAN reward associated with grandmaster-level skill. 39 41 42
- Medicine 78 — Diagnoses illnesses, poisoning, and trauma, and provides more effective treatment outside combat. 8
- His Emergency Department background lets him argue successfully that witnessing a severe injury should not cost him SAN. 43
- His low physical attributes prevent him from reliably carrying or protecting injured allies during a chase. 45 50
Psychological Analysis
Liu Xing has self-studied psychology and specializes in detecting lies, reading motives, and stabilizing allies. 10
- Psychology 71 — Determines whether NPCs are lying or concealing information; used against Old Wayne and in a successful contest against Gary. 15 17 30 39
- Psychoanalysis 70 — Can restore SAN to allies suffering from mental instability; Liu Xing also uses it to recover SAN after touching the parchment. 8 20
- His Psychology victory over Gary grants a skill increase despite Gary possessing the higher skill value. 30
Investigation and Deduction
Liu Xing combines close observation with scenario knowledge to identify threats and solve mysteries.
- Correctly deduces that Shan He, Wu Gen Cao, and Bai Wan are ghosts by comparing their behavior, clothing, injuries, and the room’s dated evidence. 5
- Recognizes the castle’s supposed Elder Signs as printed wallpaper rather than real magical wards. 26 27
- Investigation/Spot Hidden 40 — Successfully identifies the peaches, grapes, and bamboo shoots placed on the Harvest Festival offering table. 42 45
- Cthulhu Mythos Knowledge 1 — Gains Mythos knowledge after surviving contact with the parchment. 20 39
Persuasion
Liu Xing can adopt a polite, trustworthy persona to obtain information or de-escalate danger.

- Uses character-background reasoning to persuade kpcao to waive an Inspiration check and SAN loss. 43
- Volunteers as the group’s spokesperson because his Psychology skill makes him their best choice for dealing with Gary. 28
Mobility and Practical Skills
- Jump 70 — A former university high-jump standout; uses this skill to access Ains Castle’s second floor and frequently treats it as an escape option. 10 15 19
- Lockpicking 11 — Acquired through a successful base-value check during the Ains Castle scenario. 18 39
- Other Language: English 22 — Learned during Intermission Growth after KP004 warns him that future scenarios may create language barriers. 26 41 42
- Drive 50 — Obtained through driving training during Intermission Growth. 41 42

Equipment / Items
- Old Seal Amulet (Low Quality) — Awarded for his A-level Novice Room clear. It is effective against low-tier Mythical Creatures and can materialize in reality for one point. 6 7
- Ancestral Green Tea — SAN-restoring green tea obtained from a Newbie Gift Pack; carried into the Harvest Festival scenario. 9 39 42
- Cthulhu’s Candy — A 999-point item drawn from the Newbie Gift Pack; kept on his person during Harvest Festival. 9 39 42
- Qingming Season Rain — Deals 1d3 damage to physically immune Mythical Creatures and may reduce their movement speed by 50%. 41 42
- Qingming Sacrifice — A ritual sacrifice item. Liu Xing discards it before entering the festival grounds, then later regrets doing so. 41 42 44
- Qingming Oiled Paper Umbrella — Grants temporary invisibility; discarded because carrying it at a summer festival would appear suspicious. 41 42
- Mysterious parchment — Taken from Gary’s study; contact temporarily reduces Liu Xing’s attributes, costs 2 SAN, and grants 2 Cthulhu Mythos Knowledge during the scenario. 20
Relationships

- Tumor — Administrator of the An Family Ghoul Branch who welcomes Liu Xing into the guild. 7 10

Story Role / Major Arcs
Novice Room
Liu Xing enters the Ghoul Area’s Novice Room under the identity Old Chinese Doctor. He refuses to settle for merely protecting the candle, investigates the side quest, exposes the three apparent players as the ghosts connected to the mansion’s 2000 family-annihilation case, and earns an A-level evaluation. 3 4 5 6
Ains Castle
As the team’s doctor and investigator, Liu Xing probes Old Wayne, infiltrates the castle’s second floor, takes Gary’s parchment, and establishes the electric main gate as the group’s escape route. He serves as the group’s negotiator at the banquet and against Gary. 15 19 20 27 28 30 32
Liu Xing helps Isabella escape Gary’s control and reaches the hidden ending, though he later learns that Isabella had manipulated him into recovering her necklace, controlling the ghouls, and shifting blame for the killings onto Gary. His 42% contribution rate earns him MVP status, 120 points, and contacts with Isabella and Chris. 36 37 38
Intermission Growth and Harvest Festival
Following Ains Castle, Liu Xing reflects on his mistakes and uses Intermission Growth to improve First Aid, learn English, and gain driving ability. He then begins his first Shoggoth Area Advancement Match, Harvest Festival, where he joins a new group of players and investigates the ritual’s offerings and the Mirror World threat. 39 40 41 42 45 50
