Su Ling'er was initially misjudged as a mortal incapable of cultivation. When Ye Xingchen examined her, he discovered that her meridians contained a sealed, ancient power of ultimate frost from the Nine Nether Hell: the Lunar Netherworld Physique. The physique had been hidden beneath impurities from ordinary food and inferior cultivation methods. 188

After Ye Xingchen accepted her, Lin Feng, and Wang Fugui as disciples, Su Ling'er chose to remain with him despite being warned of the dangers ahead. Ye Xingchen then provided cultivation arts and pills suited to each disciple's constitution. 189
