The Living Sun

"The energy conduit is working fine! How can this be?" Green could clearly sense that the conduit, made through Sorcery, had not lost its ability to block light and heat.

Green began to think.

"If the heat from outside is blocked, then it must be coming from inside!"

Green's eyes lit up. He already had a faint suspicion. He focused his Mental Power in the direction the Soul Particles were flowing and scanned with all his might.

"Just as I thought. The heat is coming from the end of the conduit."

As he sensed the temperature rising the closer he got to the conduit's end, a theory immediately formed in Green's mind.

"These Soul Particles are going to the sun," Green murmured.

Throughout the ruins, only one thing in the sky gave off such blinding light and heat: the sun.

As the temperature around him climbed, the radiation of light and fire slowly wore away Green's Mental Power. Just as that strand was about to dissipate, he steeled himself and sent it rushing straight toward the sun at the conduit's end.

As fire and light melted away his Mental Power, Green sensed a faint trace of life.

Down on the ground, Green slowly rose to his feet, released his disguise Sorcery, and returned to human form. He looked up at the sun, his eyes filled with disbelief.

"The sun is alive!!" Thanks to his exceptionally strong affinity with life, that strand of Green's Mental Power had unmistakably sensed a trace of Life Force from the sun. It was faint, almost imperceptible, but there was no mistaking it.

Green stared at the sun for a long while before lowering his head helplessly. It was simply too far away. Even knowing something was wrong with it, he could do nothing.

Green clutched
