The child whose evolution had gone wrong walked silently at the very front, keeping some distance from the others.
As they trudged on in silence, the child at the front and his Digital Beast chatted with each other.
But neither of them brought up evolution. They talked about little things, like the weather!

Just as they were talking, a quicksand whirlpool suddenly opened in the ground.
The boy and his partner lost their balance, and a giant Kuwagamon crawled out of the whirlpool.
Because of where they were standing, Tai and Agumon found themselves right on Kuwagamon's enormous mandibles.
Kuwagamon's hind legs suddenly kicked off the ground, and its whole body lurched upward. The boy named Tai was flung more than ten meters away, diving headfirst into a pile of sand.
Agumon, on the other hand, lost his footing before Kuwagamon could put much force into the motion. He was thrown only a few meters and landed right in front of Kuwagamon.
Agumon quickly got to his feet, sucked in a breath, and spat out a fireball!
But it was no use. Faced with an attack like that, Kuwagamon only grew more furious and roared up at the sky.
"Tai, hurry and have Agumon evolve!"
