The moment Green entered the passage, he felt how different the ancient teleportation array was. Enormous pressure bore down on him from every side, threatening to crush him flat. Modern teleportation arrays mainly left people dizzy, but this one was far rougher. Green felt as though he had been buried in the deep sea, his entire body squeezed by the pressure. It kept shifting, too, tearing at his flesh.
He had no idea how much time passed before a silver light appeared. Green felt himself squeezed straight out of the passage!
Splash! It felt as though he had burst through the surface of the water. The crushing pressure vanished in an instant.
Its sudden disappearance made Green dizzy, and he dropped to one knee.
The darkness before his eyes soon cleared, and Green stood again.
"Greed got the better of me. I forgot the details and stepped into that passage without taking a single precaution!" Green reflected with lingering fear.
Thinking back on what he had felt inside the Spatial Passage, Green knew an ordinary Wizard would have died without preparing first. Only his constitution of eight points and extraordinary recovery had saved him.
He was still standing here entirely because of his exceptional constitution.
Green patted his forehead, warning himself to stay cautious, then looked around.
He examined his surroundings carefully. The Core Region was little different from the underground area. Long years of erosion had left dust everywhere, including all over Green from his contact with the floor.
The entire Core Region was dim, with no proper source of light. Visibility was poor. Only the Fluorescent Stones on the walls gave off scattered pinpricks of light. Fortunately, Green's powerful constitution meant even that faint glow was enough for him to see.
