Green returned to the Academy without showing anything unusual.
Unlike before, though, he no longer taught advanced courses there. Apart from teaching basic courses to fulfill his contractual obligations, he spent most of his time studying.
His chief concern was absorbing knowledge, whether modern or ancient. Naturally, he had no reason to waste effort on anything else.
After all, he had taught courses and sold potions before to prepare for the expedition into the ruins.
He had bought supplies to ensure his own safety.
But many of them had gone unused, including the Black-Evil Potion he had made and the Wizard artifacts he had purchased.
Green sold the Wizard artifacts again. They were of little use and would barely help him.
After buying and selling them, he had actually made a small profit.
Green also applied to the Academy to become a recruitment Wizard for the coming intake. He said he needed to make a trip home and could take on the assignment while he was at it.
The Academy department was only too happy to agree. Wizards had always been reluctant to take recruitment duty. Not only did it mean spending six tedious months aboard a ship, but more importantly, they could do nothing except meditate. With ordinary people aboard, any experiments conducted by a Wizard would almost certainly kill most of them.
To a Wizard, accepting the assignment meant six months with no work done, so naturally no one wanted it.
But it was only December. The Academy fleet would not depart for another two months, so Green could only wait patiently.
A month later.
Winter had arrived. The sun still blazed in the sky, pouring its warmth over the earth, but it could not hold back the cold.
