The World Awakens

At the center of the Academy, the enormous Wizard Tower stood unscathed. With defenses at the Third Level, it had easily withstood the explosion.

But the tower's survival did not mean the Wizards inside the Academy had fared well. The attack had come without warning and at close range, leaving many of them only enough time to raise their Innate Sorcery defenses. The blast at its core had reached the Second Level, even exceeding it slightly. Most First-Level Wizards would have died if they had not carried defensive artifacts that activated automatically.

Even Second-Level Wizards had suffered damage to their Mental Power and would be unable to wield their full strength for some time.

Reaching the edge of the blast zone, Green looked around. Some First-Level Wizards who were less suited to combat had been reduced to charred remains.

The surviving First-Level Wizards looked listless, as though they had drained their seas of consciousness dry.

Green's eyes darkened. Most of the dead had been Potion makers and Formation specialists. Losing them was far worse than losing ordinary Wizards.

Those professions required considerable talent. More than half of their practitioners had died in this attack. Even White House Academy, a top organization on the East Coast, would struggle to bear such a blow in the short term.

The damage to its facilities was severe as well. The explosion had devastated the Main Campus, destroying almost all its Herb Gardens and laboratories.

"Dollhouse! White House Academy will make you pay!" A terrifying roar erupted from the Wizard Tower and rang across the entire Academy!

A vast surge of energy and Mental Power accompanied it. For a moment, Green felt his thoughts grind to a halt.
