Three months later, in a general-purpose laboratory inside Green's Wizard Tower.
Heat and flame. Those two words described the laboratory.
At the center of the laboratory stood a huge spherical furnace. The blue metal covering its surface shimmered with bright blue light as it steadily absorbed the surrounding Fire Element radiation. Above it, a Formation set into the wall glowed fiery red, pouring Fire Elemental Particles into the room.
The room held an enormous amount of heat converted by the Formation, and the furnace at its center absorbed it without pause. Even so, the temperature had climbed above a hundred degrees Celsius. Between the heat and the intense radiation, an ordinary person would die just by approaching it.
Even a Formal Wizard would suffer burns after staying here too long, unless they had an exceptionally strong constitution and high resistance to Fire Element radiation.
Ever since he brought back the Sunstone, Green had been working on his refining plan.
The first step in making the Flame Crown was shaping it. Sunstone, transformed from Core Lava Stone, had changed in nature and could withstand extreme heat. Ordinary Sorcery could not shape it directly, either; its intense energy radiation disrupted the spell models.
In the end, Green came up with a solution. Human effort alone would not do; he needed the power of nature. So he used a Formation to connect to the sun and channel its power into the laboratory to melt the Sunstone.
Why channel the sun's power instead of using it directly?
Because the sun was too powerful. Under its direct heat, the Sunstone would vaporize in seconds.
"So hard to melt. If I used the Wizard Tower's energy, this would consume at least half of the Elemental Energy Pool!"
Green sounded rueful, but delight glinted in his eyes.
