Rescue

In the Mist World, trees still stood alone throughout the forest. An eerie hush made everything seem trapped in eternal, deathly silence.

Then an unseen will crossed spacetime and arrived in the forest.

The Blue Crystal Orb floated up from the ground and slowly began to melt. As it did, it released a protective barrier.

The barrier gradually expanded. Green's Avatar, trapped inside it, rapidly regained his original size. Only when the barrier reached about two meters across did it stop growing.

Standing within it, Green's Avatar slowly opened his eyes.

"The Mist Forest. What a familiar sight!"

A faint smile crossed Green's face, but he quickly lowered his head in thought.

The person who attacked me when I first entered the Mist Forest must be on guard. I don't know what things are like outside now. I'll have to investigate carefully.

Thinking of that attacker, Green felt a little relieved. Luckily, he had acted decisively and escaped fast. If he had been caught, he might have had no choice but to destroy his counterpart in the Soul Hunter World.

His body was not particularly strong. After all, it had undergone no enhancement; he had only used energy to push its muscles to their current limits.

His Mental Power, however, was formidable. It came from a portion split off from a Fourth-Level Soul, and even a tiny fragment carried immense Mental Power. If his body could have borne it, Green's Mental Power could have been higher still.

With this much Mental Power to cast Sorcery, I should have no trouble protecting myself!
