Preparing to Break Through

After controlling the Treant to search for quite some time, Green found only a few bottles of potions, some Magic Stones, and two scrolls. The man was only a Wandering Wizard, so Green stopped searching and turned his attention to the axe in the Treant's hands.

Green knew a fair amount about crafting Wizard artifacts, but he had no intention of making one while he was an apprentice. He advanced quickly and would not remain a Wizard Apprentice for long. Even if he poured his heart into making an artifact, he would have little time to use it. Besides, with the Chip, Green was far beyond ordinary apprentices. Even a top-tier Apprentice Level artifact would help him very little.

"Malice Erasure!"

Green did not touch the axe. He cast a spell first.

A white streak of light flew from Green's hand and struck the axe. The light sank into it, setting its surface aglow. In the dark forest, a faint light flickered like the only shining star in an endless night.

As the light flowed through the axe, black mist seeped out.

The mist gathered in the air and formed a black skull. Malice spread in every direction, and Negative Energy poured from it without end. Even the Treant beside it was affected; its hands began to decay. But under the effects of Nature Aura, they quickly recovered, holding the unceasing Negative Energy at bay.

"Just as I thought. Even in death, a Wandering Wizard like that would try to drag someone down with him!" Green was glad he had been cautious.

By the time the light had forced all the black mist out of the axe, the skull had grown to the size of a human head.
