Ch. 961Arrival on the Continent

Green’s fleet neared the Toril Continent, and Leindorf asked permission to begin the invasion. Green chose a different course, creating a magical Pointer to determine which continent the fleet would conquer first.

  • Leindorf spotted seabirds near the fleet and reported that it had reached the vicinity of the Toril Continent.
  • Green considered the challenges of conquering the continent and quickly devised a plan.
  • Green used magic to create a red-copper Pointer and ordered Leindorf to steer the fleet toward the first continent it indicated.
  • Leindorf accepted the Pointer and changed the fleet’s course.

Ch. 962Mobilization

Green studied the Toril Continent’s shifting conflicts and concluded that Arthesian was seeking to exploit the active Planar Will to build his own kingdom and ascend. One month later, Green’s forces mobilized at Yellowstone Cliff to begin conquering the Aelmis Mountains, leaving Leindorf responsible for delivering results.

  • Green learned that human power was shrinking as other races rallied behind heroes, while human kingdoms grew divided and withheld support from their frontier territories.
  • Green realized that Arthesian had founded the Evil Dragon Kingdom to seize the opportunity created by the active Planar Will and pursue divinity.
  • One month later, five Legions and thousands of auxiliary troops assembled at Yellowstone Cliff, where Leindorf announced the campaign to take the Aelmis Mountains for the Lava King.
  • The Legions cheered their vows of victory and marched toward the mountains, with Gnoll warriors on Jungle Wolves leading the vanguard.
  • The Fire Salamander Folk commander reported that the Legions had departed with scout intelligence and an established plan, and Green told Leindorf he expected results.

Ch. 963Expansion

The Lava Clan’s five Legions expanded across the Aelsmi Mountains, forcing Trolls, Dogheads, and Wyverns to submit or join their ranks. As the clan took control of nearly three-quarters of the range, it began clashing with groups that would never surrender, including the Giants.

  • Lakstan threatened a Troll tribe, and its leader submitted to the Flame Trolls and joined the Lava Clan.
  • Tens of thousands of Dogheads joined the Second Legion after learning that the Lava King was a Red Dragon.
  • Ajires offered the Wyvern tribe submission or death, promising that service might earn them bloodline transformation by the Lava King.
  • Five Wyverns accepted Ajires’s terms and submitted to the Lava Clan.
  • The Lava Clan’s five Legions took control of nearly three-quarters of the Aelsmi Mountains and began fighting groups that resisted them.
  • The Lava Clan encountered the Giant tribe, whose hatred of Dragons made surrender virtually impossible.

Ch. 964Conquest

The Hill Giants debated how to respond to the Lava Clan’s conquest of the Aelsmi Mountains and chose to flee east toward the human kingdom. Meanwhile, Leindorf led the five legions in attacking the mountains’ final region, leaving the Hill Giants’ escape and the battle’s outcome unresolved.

  • A Hill Giant warned the king that the Lava Clan’s Heroic Tier commanders and powerful Fire Lizardfolk leader threatened the region, but the king said the leader could not reach Legendary without a great achievement.
  • An aged Hill Giant warned that they could not withstand the Lava King and the five legion commanders, prompting another Hill Giant to suggest fleeing.
  • The Hill Giant king agreed to lead his people east to seize a city in the human kingdom, whose forces had recently fought the Orcs.
  • Leindorf led the five legions into the Aelsmi Mountains’ final region as fires and smoke spread across the range.
  • Lava Clan Gnolls and Flame Trolls attacked the resisting creatures, while the Flame Trolls endured their opponents’ weak weapons and quickly healed from the few injuries they suffered.

Ch. 965Completed

The Lava Clan defeated the forces resisting them and conquered the Aelsmi Mountains, then built a palace for Green and summoned the region’s Monsters to witness his arrival. Green reached the palace, where the gathered races awaited him and Leindorf anticipated his ascension to Legendary status.

  • The Lava Clan advanced through the Aelsmi Mountains, while Dragon One and Dragon Two’s arrival broke the resistance and drove fleeing races east toward the human kingdoms.
  • After the war ended, the Lava Clan secured the mountains and began exploring; its spellcasters and Legion leaders created a Magma Lake and built Green a palace modeled on his island home.
  • Leindorf reported the conquest to Green and said the Lava Palace was ready, while sensing that Green’s coronation would give him the power to become Legendary.
  • Green flew with Leindorf to the palace, where countless races knelt in welcome as Dragon One and Dragon Two intimidated the gathered Monsters.

Ch. 966Continue the Conquest

Green conquered the Aelsmi Mountains, gathered faith, and urged his armies to expand his territory toward the neighboring ranges. At the Lava Palace, he met three new Heroic Tier leaders and promised them Dragon bloodlines if they distinguished themselves in the coming wars.

  • Green arrived at the Aelsmi Mountains and used his Dragon Might and Legendary Erosion Domain to subdue the monsters and transform those with the aptitude for Dragonification.
  • The monsters praised Green as the Lava King, and their faith began to form wisps of divinity in his avatar's soul.
  • Green rallied his subjects to conquer the neighboring mountain ranges and promised exceptional warriors elevated bloodlines, territories, and honors.
  • Sethiane, Kali, and Ryansir introduced themselves to Green as the leaders of the Wyverns and Lizardfolk and the ruler of Aelsmi Lake.
  • Green promised the three new Heroic Tier beings his bloodline if they proved themselves in the wars ahead, and they vowed to serve him.

Ch. 967Legion

After conquering Aelsmi, Leindorf advanced to the Legendary Realm, and Green reorganized the Lava Clan’s Legions under his command. Green ordered the clan to prepare for a campaign across the plains in three months while scouts investigated the human kingdoms to the east.

  • Leindorf gained the titles Lava Conqueror, Monster Who Burned Aelsmi, and Volcano Builder, and advanced into the Legendary Realm.
  • Green appointed Leindorf to oversee the Legions and command the Army Legion, while Yugulos took charge of caster professions.
  • Green reduced the Lava Clan’s Legions to the Air Legion, Navy Legion, Army Legion, and Assault Legion, assigning unconverted races to the Assault Legion.
  • Leindorf, Ajires, Lubluk, and Yugulos pledged obedience and were ordered to complete the reorganization quickly.
  • Green ordered the Lava Clan to begin conquering the plains on both sides of Aelsmi in three months and to scout the eastern human kingdoms without attacking them.

Ch. 968Preparations for Expansion

After the war, Green assessed the Lava Clan’s prospects for expansion and examined how his deeds shaped his developing Divinity. He chose to burn his stored Faith Force to strengthen himself, and his rising power transformed his body and nearby creatures before he fell asleep.

  • Green watched Dragon One and Dragon Two sleep and calculated that the Lava Clan could soon have five Legendary Lifeforms and push into the continent’s West.
  • Green considered the Gold Dragons, Silver Dragons, and adventurers who would oppose an attack on human kingdoms, then asked Chip to display his attributes.
  • Green saw that his developing Divinity consisted of Lava, Black Smoke, Rule, and Flame, and reasoned that his deeds had not earned him traits like brutality or greed.
  • Green chose to ignite his stored Faith Force to strengthen his Avatar instead of using it to hasten the birth of his Divinity.
  • Green’s power surged past Level 18 toward High Legendary, his body grew, and Dragon One, Dragon Two, and other creatures began to change.
  • Green gradually fell asleep inside the Lava Palace as his strength continued to rise.

Ch. 969The Eve of War, Conquest

While Green slept, his growing power transformed the Lava Clan and stirred fear across the surrounding lands. As the Kingdom of Thebes and the plains prepared their defenses, the Lava Clan completed its preparations for expansion, and Green neared waking.

  • Green's growing Legendary power strengthened the Dragonkin and transformed talented Monsters across Aelsmi into Dragonblood Creatures, consolidating the Lava Clan's control.
  • The Kingdom of Thebes received word that a Legendary Red Dragon had occupied Aelsmi and was preparing to expand, prompting its ruler to summon nobles and assemble troops along the border.
  • Barbarian leaders on the northern and southern plains argued over how to respond as displaced clans and the Hill Giant Tribe attacked smaller tribes.
  • The surrounding factions tightened their defenses but hesitated to challenge the Lava Clan while it continued building its strength.
  • Ajires's Air Legion, Leindorf's Army Legion, Lubluk's navy, and Yugulos's Caster Legion completed their preparations, while enslaved Monsters produced weapons and Centaurs worked the fields.
  • After three months, Green was on the verge of waking in the Lava Palace.

Ch. 970The Doomsday Scene

Green’s body and soul completed their growth as he advanced toward awakening, unleashing a dark-red Whirlpool across the Aelsmi Mountains. The phenomenon alarmed outsiders and soldiers while the Barbarians celebrated, and one wary Barbarian slipped away.

  • Green’s body grew to 25 meters with a 48-meter wingspan, and his Legendary influence strengthened the creatures of the Aelsmi Mountains.
  • After three months, the Fire Element began to boil as a dark-red Whirlpool formed above the Lava Palace and Dragon One and Dragon Two circled it.
  • A Mage beyond the Aelsmi Mountains recognized the power as that of a High Legendary and sent a message to a Mage Tower in the Kingdom of Thebes.
  • The Kingdom of Thebes’ soldiers trembled before the Whirlpool as their commander judged the threat to be a High Legendary.
  • Barbarians near the mountains boasted about killing a dragon, while one frightened Barbarian quietly sneaked away.

Ch. 971Attack the Plains

After three months of slumber, Green emerged stronger and ordered the Lava Clan to conquer the northern and southern plains. The Barbarian tribes prepared to evacuate their people north while delaying the Red Dragons.

  • Green checked his growth and Divinity progress, deciding that burning Faith Force to increase his combat power was the right choice.
  • Leindorf reported that the Lava Clan had recruited tens of thousands of Evil creatures, expanded its air and land legions, and built a large navy by absorbing Merfolk tribes.
  • Green ordered Leindorf to begin conquering the plains to the north and south and report results within a month.
  • The Barbarian chiefs learned of the Lava Clan's advance and agreed to send their old, weak, and children north while others defended the plains and delayed the Red Dragons.

Ch. 972Air Superiority

The Lava Clan overwhelmed the Barbarian cavalry and began its full-scale invasion of the Plain, using superior coordination, numbers, and air power. Green watched as the Barbarian forces suffered devastating losses, leaving their leaders with few options against the Lava Clan’s air supremacy.

  • The Lava Clan’s gnoll cavalry routed the Barbarian cavalry with coordinated charges and arrow volleys, killing many as they retreated.
  • The Barbarian chiefs heard reports of the cavalry’s near-destruction and ordered their forces to lay traps and avoid direct cavalry clashes.
  • Winged Dogheads sounded the advance, and the Lava Clan’s vast army poured out of the Aelsmi Mountains toward the Barbarian tribes.
  • The Barbarian Legion spread out to limit the Lava Clan’s Air Legion, while Giant Bear Knights and the Lava Clan’s pig cavalry fought fiercely across the Plain.
  • The Lava Clan’s Wyverns and Flame Wyverns quickly hunted down the Barbarians’ few Winged Dragons and devastated their rear forces.

Ch. 973The War Ends, the Kingdom Takes Shape

The Lava Clan defeated the Barbarians across the plains around the Aelsmi Mountains, securing the region and its strategic routes. Green then prepared to conquer the Kingdom of Thebes, but first recognized that the Lava Clan needed a framework for governing its expanding territory.

  • The Lava Clan used its Trolls, Ogres, Warlocks, and Flame Wyverns to break the Barbarian forces and inflict heavy casualties.
  • Dragon One and Dragon Two joined the battle, shattered the Barbarians' resistance, and helped turn the fighting into a massacre across the plains.
  • Lava Clan fighters defeated the Barbarian chiefs and Heroic Realm warriors, while Ajires and Lakstan reached the pinnacle of the Heroic-Tier Realm but failed to become Legendary.
  • Green reviewed the newly conquered plains north and south of the Aelsmi Mountains and noted their value as strategic buffers, logistical bases, and grazing land.
  • Green prepared to launch a war against the Kingdom of Thebes, but decided the Lava Clan first needed a framework for governing its future conquests.

Ch. 974Clan Affairs

Over the course of a year, Green and the Lava Clan built a commercial economy across Aelsmi, expanded trade and infrastructure, and reorganized their military. With the Legions ready to attack the Kingdom of Thebes, Green turned to Yugulos to hear about the Caster Legion.

  • The Lava Clan brought the Aelsmi Mountains under administration, developed mining and commerce, and appointed the Lizardfolk to enforce Order.
  • Trade with the Kingdom of Thebes and other human kingdoms flourished despite the coming war, while Aelsmi's ports and merchant fleets expanded.
  • Kali reported that Aelsmi earned 350,000 gold coins in a year and outlined how the funds were divided between reserves, construction, and army expansion.
  • Green praised Kali's work and warned her to punish merchants who exploited loopholes.
  • Leindorf reported that the Army, Navy, and Air Legion had completed reorganization and training and were ready to attack the Kingdom of Thebes.
  • Green turned to Yugulos as the Caster Legion's command remained largely beyond Leindorf's control.

Ch. 975The Raid?

Green prepared the Lava Clan’s Legions to conquer the Kingdom of Thebes and establish the Lava Kingdom. As both sides strengthened their forces near Moonsea City, Green planned to avoid a conventional assault and considered the Lava Clan’s borders with two other human kingdoms.

  • Yugulos reported that the Caster Legion had around five hundred Warlocks, and Green ordered the three Legions to prepare for war against the Kingdom of Thebes.
  • Green appointed Lubluk’s Navy Legion to play a leading role, and Lubluk vowed to secure victory.
  • The Lava Clan and the Kingdom of Thebes moved troops toward their border as merchants reduced trade between them.
  • The Kingdom of Thebes fortified Moonsea City and recruited adventurers to join its defenses.
  • Green observed that the Lava Clan’s troops had gained stronger armor and decided against a conventional attack on the Kingdom of Thebes.
  • Green noted that the Lava Clan’s northern and southern territories bordered two other human kingdoms instead of the Kingdom of Thebes.

Ch. 976Plans and Action

Green planned a surprise invasion of the Kingdom of Thebes through a neighboring kingdom and chose Dorne over the Red Sand Kingdom. He left the details of the Dorne route to be overcome before the Lava Clan could launch its attack.

  • Green marked the Kingdom of Thebes and two kingdoms north and south of the Aelsmi Plains as targets on his map.
  • Green considered the advantages and obstacles of invading through Dorne, whose waterways connected to those of Thebes, and through the Red Sand Kingdom, whose wasteland could conceal an army.
  • Green chose Dorne because it offered more resources and a more useful route, despite the challenges of its frozen mountains and waterways.
  • Green sent Leindorf a message through their soul link.

Ch. 977Infiltrating the Waterways

The Lava Clan secretly transported its Navy Legion through a portal beneath the snowy mountains and infiltrated Dorne Kingdom’s waterways. The Kingdom of Thebes remained focused on defending Moonsea City, unaware of the covert threat.

  • Lubluk directed the Lava Clan warlocks to open a portal capable of transporting 30,000 members of the Navy Legion.
  • The Navy Legion passed through the portal and emerged in a forest near a river in Dorne Kingdom.
  • Lubluk’s forces entered the rivers and tributaries, overcame local resistance, and took control of Dorne Kingdom’s waterways.
  • The Lava Clan kept the Kingdom of Thebes occupied near Moonsea City, while Thebes underestimated the Navy Legion and failed to detect its infiltration.

Ch. 978The Fall of the North

The Lava Clan infiltrated the Kingdom of Thebes beneath the frozen Dothis River and launched a surprise attack on Kerlan's Heart, destroying its defenses. With Kerlann Yaxi fleeing the city, the Lava Clan's forces poured inside and the battle began.

  • The Lava Clan Legion traveled downstream beneath the ice while Flame Wyverns and Wyverns slipped into Thebes through the sky.
  • Lubluk led a night raid on Kerlan's Heart, using Dragon Blood to unleash draconic might and strengthen his attack.
  • Lubluk shattered the city's protective barrier and walls, allowing the Lava Clan's air and navy forces to assault Kerlan's Heart.
  • Kerlann Yaxi gathered his family's wealth and elite retainers, then fled instead of leading the city's defense.
  • With Yaxi gone and its walls breached, Kerlan's Heart's resistance weakened as the Lava Clan poured into the city.

Ch. 979Impact, Continued

After the Lava Clan conquered Kerlan's Heart, Bru advanced along the waterways while the Kingdom of Thebes learned of the defeat and struggled to contain the invasion. The royal court ordered reinforcements north and an investigation into how the Monsters had entered the kingdom.

  • Lubluk imposed the Lava Clan's laws on Kerlan's Heart, executed resisters, and destroyed churches belonging to Deities that had opposed the clan while leaving neutral churches untouched.
  • Bru left part of the Legion to govern Kerlan's Heart and led the remaining forces along the waterways toward other cities.
  • The Kingdom of Thebes received news of Kerlan's Heart's fall after Bru's Warlocks had jammed communications during the attack.
  • General Eugene told the King that reclaiming Kerlan's Heart was nearly impossible and warned that the Lava Clan could threaten Herman Royal City because the kingdom's waterways enabled its movements.
  • The King ordered one-third of the royal city's army to reinforce northern cities, directed Moonsea City's army to withdraw north, and asked Mage Billrak to investigate how the Monsters had infiltrated the kingdom.
  • A noble questioned the orders, but Eugene argued that the northern advance threatened the royal city and that returning the northern army home could strengthen its resolve.

Ch. 980Legendary Spell

The Lava Clan attacked Moonsea City while the Kingdom of Thebes was distracted by Lubluk, but the city’s defenses held against the ordinary assault. Yugulos then joined forces with dozens of Warlocks to cast the Legendary Spell Meteor Swarm, leaving the city’s barrier to face a devastating barrage.

  • The King of Thebes ordered the royal capital’s troops redeployed and the northern army recalled as the kingdom responded to Lubluk’s surprise attack.
  • The Lava Clan assaulted the front line at Aelsmi to keep the Kingdom of Thebes from focusing on Lubluk.
  • Moonsea City’s barrier and weapons repelled the Lava Clan’s attacks, while Yugulos told Leindorf he could use a Legendary-Tier spell to break through its defenses.
  • Yugulos led dozens of Warlocks in gathering Fire Elements as the human Mages strengthened Moonsea City’s barrier.
  • Yugulos cast the Legendary Spell Meteor Swarm, sending more than a dozen kilometer-wide fireballs crashing toward Moonsea City.
